NIO Achieves County-Wide Coverage in Tianjin and Completes High-Speed Charging Network in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region
On May 28th, NIO officially launched its new battery swap station at Tianjin Heping Wharf, achieving county-wide coverage in Tianjin with a total of 56 swap stations across the city’s 16 districts. The swap station network covers nearly 80% of residential areas, with nearly one million swap transactions recorded. NIO has also completed the high-speed charging network in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, with 94 stations placed every 110 km on average. In April, NIO delivered 23,900 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 53%. The new NIO ET5 and ET5T were launched on May 25th, with a starting price of 298,000 yuan, or 228,000 yuan with the BaaS battery leasing option.
Ford Everest 2025 Launched in Argentina with Pre-Sales and Delivery Starting in July
The Ford Everest 2025 has launched pre-sales in Argentina with deliveries expected to start in July. Built on a robust ladder frame with electrically folding third-row seats, the Everest is powered by a 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged gasoline engine delivering 300 horsepower, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The interior features high-quality materials, cabin insulation, and an immersive digital experience with an 8-inch instrument cluster and a 12-inch infotainment system. The pre-sale price is set at 79.8 million Argentine pesos, valid through June. The vehicle comes with a 5-year or 150,000 km warranty and is available in four colors.
Peugeot e-208 GTi Set for Revival Ahead of 24 Hours of Le Mans
Peugeot is set to revive the GTi badge with the e-208 GTi ahead of the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans race. This will be the first GTi model since the 308 GTi in 2017 and will compete with the Alpine A290, based on the Renault 5 EV. Peugeot CEO Alain Favey emphasized the brand’s commitment to driving sensations. The e-208 GTi will feature a 156 PS electric motor and a 51 kWh battery, offering up to 400 km of range (WLTP). Future GTi variants will depend on customer feedback.

Toyota Corolla Cross GR Sport Launched in Japan
The Toyota Corolla Cross GR Sport has been launched in Japan at a price of 3.895 million yen (approximately RM115k), making it the most expensive variant in the refreshed Corolla Cross lineup. The GR Sport is exclusively available with a hybrid powertrain, featuring a 2.0L naturally-aspirated inline-four petrol engine producing 152 PS and 188 Nm of torque, paired with an E-CVT transmission and an E-Four electric all-wheel drive system. The GR Sport variant includes stiffer suspension bushings, lower ride height, and exclusive styling elements such as a Matrix grille, 19-inch wheels, black accents, and red brake calipers. The interior features sport seats with GR logos, suede-like upholstery, a GR-branded steering wheel, paddle shifters, and aluminium pedals.

2025 Changan UNI-Z Launch: New Blue Whale Powertrain and Knight Limited Edition
The 2025 Changan UNI-Z was launched on May 28th, available in both gasoline and plug-in hybrid versions. The gasoline model features a new Blue Whale 1.5T engine with 500Bar high-pressure direct injection, offering a maximum power of 141kW and a peak torque of 310Nm. The plug-in hybrid version is equipped with a 1.5L engine and a 158kW electric motor, with a CLTC pure-electric range of 125km and a fuel consumption of 5.15L/100km in charge-depleting mode. The vehicle has a sporty design with a large, three-dimensional grille and pulling-through LED tail lights. The interior is minimalist, featuring a 14.6-inch floating center console screen and supporting multiple wireless connectivity options. The plug-in hybrid version also offers a limited-edition "Knight" package with a black-themed exterior. The vehicle measures 4730×1890×1660mm with a wheelbase of 2795mm, and the cargo space can expand up to 1425L.

Indonesian Aletra L8 Begins Production with Plans to Export to RHD Markets in Asia-Pacific
Production of the Aletra L8 has commenced at PT Handal Indonesia Motor’s factory in Indonesia. The L8, based on the Geely Jiaji EV, features right-hand-drive conversion and adjustments for the local market. It offers two battery variants with CLTC ranges of 431km and 540km, powered by a 163 PS motor. The MPV is planned for export to other right-hand-drive countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
