Production of the Aletra L8 has commenced at PT Handal Indonesia Motor’s factory in Indonesia. The L8, based on the Geely Jiaji EV, features right-hand-drive conversion and adjustments for the local market. It offers two battery variants with CLTC ranges of 431km and 540km, powered by a 163 PS motor. The MPV is planned for export to other right-hand-drive countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

Renault to Relaunch Megane E-Tech as 91 kWh Hot Hatch Next Year amid Sales Slump
After an 18-month sales slide, Renault will reposition the Megane E-Tech as a performance-oriented hot hatch in its 2025 update. CEO Fabrice Cambolive told Autocar the model will receive a larger, 91 kWh battery—already used in the Nissan Ariya Nismo—and sport visual and chassis upgrades to justify the cost. Design chief Laurens van den Acker said the move aims to create a high-performance EV niche and revive consumer interest; initial proposals for the revamped Megane and a related all-new performance car are expected within 12 months.

Zeekr 7X Electric SUV Begins First Deliveries in Malaysia, Up to 615 km WLTP Range
Zeekr has handed over the first units of its fully electric mid-size SUV, the 7X, at Zeekr Space Bangsar. Offered in three trims, prices start at RM 179,800 for the RWD Standard Range with a 75 kWh LFP pack delivering 480 km WLTP; the RWD Long Range, at RM 190,800, uses a 100 kWh NMC battery for 615 km WLTP; the AWD Performance, priced RM 226,800, combines two motors for 646 PS and 3.8 s 0-100 km/h, achieving 543 km WLTP. Deliveries continue nationwide this month, with test drives bookable online or via WhatsApp.

The 2025 MINI JCW Electric is now in Malaysia—from RM218k for 2-year warranty or RM225k with 4-year service. The 3.86 m three-door hot-hatch uses a 49.2 kWh (usable) battery driving a 190 kW/350 Nm front motor for 0-100 km/h in 5.9 s and 200 km/h top; WLTP range 371 km, 95 kW DC charge 10-80 % in 30 min. Standard kit includes HUD, 9.4-in OLED round display, wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, full-speed ACC, Harman Kardon audio and JCW aero/trim; high-voltage battery covered 8 yrs/160k km.
