The cancellation of the US policy promoting electric vehicle production and sales by President Trump could impact Indonesia. GAIKINDO in Indonesia believes that the growth of internal combustion engine vehicles must continue, noting that the low resale value of electric vehicles is a reason for public hesitation. The Indonesian government is offering hybrid vehicle incentives to boost the sale of environmentally friendly vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz released updated EQS 500 4MATIC sedan and EQS SUV 500 4MATIC full-size SUV, priced at RMB 881,000 and 910,500 respectively. Both retain the star-pattern closed grille; the sedan measures 5,224×1,926×1,512mm with a 3,210mm wheelbase and offers dual-motor AWD, flagship luxury EV positioning.

On Sept 16, BYD launched the Tang DM-i 175 km Smart Driving Long-Range in three trims, priced RMB 179,800-199,800. A 26.6 kWh Blade battery delivers 175 km CLTC electric and 1,240 km total range; 4.7 L/100 km depleted consumption. Standard Cloud-C chassis, DiLink 100 cockpit; top trim adds LiDAR DiPilot 300 enabling HNOA/CNOA; 0-100 km/h in 7.9 s.

Citing SDV usage data, Mercedes-Benz will reintroduce physical rocker switches, rollers and buttons on a newly designed steering wheel, debuting in the latest GLC and CLA Shooting Brake EV. Chief software officer Magnus Östberg said the hybrid HMI balances touchscreens with hard keys proven to be faster for high-frequency functions. The wheel will roll out to all current models beginning with the C178 CLA later this year, while future SUVs may gain additional cabin buttons tailored to regional preferences.
