The Toyota Corolla Cross GR Sport has been launched in Japan at a price of 3.895 million yen (approximately RM115k), making it the most expensive variant in the refreshed Corolla Cross lineup. The GR Sport is exclusively available with a hybrid powertrain, featuring a 2.0L naturally-aspirated inline-four petrol engine producing 152 PS and 188 Nm of torque, paired with an E-CVT transmission and an E-Four electric all-wheel drive system. The GR Sport variant includes stiffer suspension bushings, lower ride height, and exclusive styling elements such as a Matrix grille, 19-inch wheels, black accents, and red brake calipers. The interior features sport seats with GR logos, suede-like upholstery, a GR-branded steering wheel, paddle shifters, and aluminium pedals.

On May 28th, PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor (SIM), a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation in Indonesia, launched the new compact SUV "FRONX." The FRONX is a new-genre compact SUV based on the concept of an easy-to-handle coupe-style SUV, featuring stylish design, high performance for smooth and sporty driving, the latest safety features, and a comfortable interior. Production of the FRONX started in India at Maruti Suzuki India Limited and is now sold in over 70 countries and regions. Indonesia's FRONX will be produced at SIM's Chikarang Plant, making it the second country to produce the model after India. SIM plans to sell 24,000 units per year in Indonesia and export them to ASEAN countries. The launch of FRONX marks a new chapter in the Indonesian market for SIM.
New Land Rover Defender Unveiled: Detail Tweaks and Interior Upgrades
The new Land Rover Defender has been unveiled with minor exterior tweaks and interior upgrades. The vehicle features changes in rectangular headlights, grille design, and tail light shades, while maintaining the same body dimensions. The interior now includes a 13.1-inch infotainment screen, driver monitoring system, and adaptive off-road cruise control. Powertrains are expected to remain unchanged. The overseas starting price is approximately RMB 554,400.

NIO Achieves County-Wide Coverage in Tianjin and Completes High-Speed Charging Network in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region
On May 28th, NIO officially launched its new battery swap station at Tianjin Heping Wharf, achieving county-wide coverage in Tianjin with a total of 56 swap stations across the city’s 16 districts. The swap station network covers nearly 80% of residential areas, with nearly one million swap transactions recorded. NIO has also completed the high-speed charging network in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, with 94 stations placed every 110 km on average. In April, NIO delivered 23,900 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 53%. The new NIO ET5 and ET5T were launched on May 25th, with a starting price of 298,000 yuan, or 228,000 yuan with the BaaS battery leasing option.

New Volvo S90 Launched: Exterior and Interior Upgrades with Unchanged Powertrain
The new Volvo S90 was launched on May 29th. As a mid-cycle refresh, the model mainly features exterior and interior upgrades. The exterior includes a new front grille and Thor's Hammer headlights, with tail lights echoing the headlights to enhance sportiness. The interior upgrades to an 11.2-inch floating center console screen and optimized steering wheel decoration, while retaining the crystal gear lever and seat design. The powertrain remains unchanged, offering a 2.0T mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid system with a WLTP electric range of 80km for the plug-in version. The fuel version has a maximum power of 184kW, and the plug-in version has a maximum power of 335kW. The new model also features Pilot Assist driver assistance functions.

Bovensiepen Zagato Unveiled by Alpina Founders, Based on BMW M4
The Bovensiepen family, known for Alpina, has launched its first independent project, the Bovensiepen Zagato, based on the BMW G82 M4. Measuring 4,943×1,913×1,394 mm and weighing 1,875 kg, the Zagato is powered by a 3.0L inline-six engine with 611 hp and 700 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and a top speed over 300 km/h. The exterior is almost entirely carbon-fiber, with 20-inch forged aluminum wheels and Bilstein dampers offering three modes. The interior features a choice of 16 Lavalina leather colors and 45 Alcantara colors. Production is limited, with each unit taking over 250 hours to build. Pricing and production numbers will be released in Q4 2025, with deliveries starting in Q2 2026.
