Dongfeng has appointed Singapore-based Volt Auto as its new Malaysian distributor to strengthen brand presence through an expanded model lineup, enhanced marketing, and a focused retail network, with CKD local assembly also in development. Future products include the MHero II, Voyah Dream, and 008. Volt Auto CEO Soh Ming emphasized a quality-over-quantity approach to dealership expansion, prioritizing strategic locations over volume. Existing partner CADB will retain its dealerships as a strategic ally.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N all-electric performance sedan has been spotted in Malaysia ahead of its expected debut at KLIMS 2026. Featuring dual-motor all-wheel drive with 609 PS and 740 Nm (650 PS/750 Nm in N Grin Boost mode), the flagship EV accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 357 km/h. Its 84 kWh battery delivers 487 km of WLTP range, supported by 800V architecture enabling 350 kW DC fast charging. The model comes equipped with N Active Sound+, N e-Shift, N Torque Distribution, N Drift Optimiser, and 20-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero Elect tyres. Local CBU pre-order price is set at RM460,000.

The Arcfox Wenda V9 will officially launch on May 27, with four variants pre-priced from RMB 229,900 (RMB 219,900 after subsidies). Built on the Polaris all-digital premium architecture, it features the Huawei Snowy Owl intelligent silent range-extender system, magnetorheological chassis, and Yuanjing full-scenario intelligent driving system. The design follows ARC-FLOW philosophy with a full-width light bar and sliding doors, offered in six colors. The MPV measures 5,300 mm long with a 3,200 mm wheelbase and 360L cargo capacity.

Ferrari has unveiled the Luce, its first-ever fully electric vehicle marking the brand's entry into the EV era. Designed in collaboration with former Apple designer Jony Ive's LoveFrom studio, the Luce adopts a rounded, minimalist aesthetic distinct from Ferrari's traditional sporty design language. The four-door, five-seater measures 5,026 mm long with a 2,961 mm wheelbase. It features a quad-motor AWD system producing 1,050 PS and 990 Nm, achieving 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h. The 122 kWh battery delivers 530 km WLTP range with 800V architecture and 350 kW DC fast charging capability.

Xpeng aims to deploy its XNGP autonomous driving software in Malaysia within two years via its VLA 2.0 AI update, requiring no local on-road training data for deployment, according to VP James Wu. The brand will commence CKD local assembly in H2 2026 alongside a right-hand-drive SUV lineup spanning compact, mid-size, and large segments. Xpeng also plans robotaxi trials in China this year and is developing Level 2.5 semi-autonomous systems for Europe, with full autonomy capability targeted within 12 months pending regulatory approval.
