The German-headquartered Hirschvogel Group, a global automotive supplier, is separating from its US subsidiary Hirschvogel Incorporated in Columbus/Ohio, which has been facing losses since its establishment in 1988. The group will now serve the North American automotive market through other production sites, mainly in Mexico and India.

The 2026 Leapmotor C10 has officially launched, offering five variants priced between 122,800 and 142,800 RMB. The new model features dual powertrain options, with the pure-electric version offering a CLTC range of 605 km and the extended-range version providing a combined range of 1,190 km and a pure-electric range of 210 km. The C10 has been upgraded with the LEAP3.5 technology architecture, introducing a new Xilu Purple exterior color and hidden door handles. The interior offers two styles, Chixia Orange and Xingyun Purple, and features a 50W air-cooled wireless fast charge and a new steering wheel design. Geely Thonburi, the distributor for Geely vehicles in Thailand, has announced plans to launch the Galaxy Starship 7 plug-in hybrid SUV in the country, with CKD local assembly. This confirms the vehicle as a global model and suggests it may also reach Malaysia, given its connection to the Proton eMas 7. However, this move could impact Proton's role as a production hub for the ASEAN market, despite previous commitments from Geely. The Galaxy Starship 7 is powered by Geely's EM-i plug-in hybrid system, featuring a 1.5-liter engine and an electric motor, achieving 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. It has a pure electric range of 120 km and a total range of 1,420 km.

Mitsubishi DST Concept Set for Production, Next-Gen Xpander and Pajero Sport in the Pipeline
Mitsubishi has confirmed that the DST Concept, showcased in the Philippines, will go into production this year. Based on the Xforce B-segment SUV, the DST will compete with models like the Toyota Rush, Daihatsu Terios, and Perodua Aruz. It features a monocoque construction for better comfort and handling. The DST will use the same powertrains as the Xforce, including a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated engine (105 PS/141 Nm) and a hybrid system with an electric motor (116 PS/255 Nm) and a 1.6-liter Atkinson-cycle engine (95 PS/134 Nm). Mitsubishi also plans to launch a next-generation Xpander post-2025, with enhanced safety features like six airbags, autonomous emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. Additionally, a next-gen Pajero Sport is in the pipeline, based on the third-generation Triton pick-up, featuring a 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine with up to 204 PS and 470 Nm of torque, available with six-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
