PROTON has established PROTON International Sdn Bhd (PICSB) as a wholly-owned subsidiary to spearhead its global expansion and enhance market flexibility. Led by CEO Lim Ming Thong, the new company will focus on expanding overseas, entering the “Global South” and optimizing sales strategies. PROTON aims to grow exports tenfold in five years to solidify “Made in Malaysia” status. In 2025, it exported 20,169 units to 19 countries, topping Malaysian OEMs, with eMas 7 leading export growth. PICSB’s 2025 export target is 6,000 units, doubling in 2026 and achieving tenfold growth by 2030.

Ford and W+K São Paulo/Buenos Aires unveil “Action Wedding” to launch the refreshed Territory SUV. Shot in Chile by Immigrant and directed by Kayhan Ozmen, the film stars a bride who drives herself to the ceremony, turning wedding-day chaos into a celebration of autonomy—mirroring the new Territory’s upgraded design, technology and refined, class-leading cabin. The campaign airs across Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile and Peru on TV and digital platforms.

On 27 Jul, Volvo unveiled the new Denim Blue finish for the XC70 mid-size SUV. Featuring a closed grille, split headlights with Thor’s Hammer DRLs, frameless doors and flush handles, the model measures 4815/1890/1650 mm with a 2895 mm wheelbase. A 1.5T plug-in hybrid pairs with LFP or NCM batteries; pre-sales begin in August.

Tesla has launched the refreshed Model Y with two configurations: the Rear-Wheel Drive Launch Edition priced at 263,500 RMB and the Long Range All-Wheel-Drive Launch Edition at 303,500 RMB. The refreshed Model Y features significant updates in design, interior, rear seating, range, and suspension. The exterior includes a new front end with split headlights and a full-width taillight bar, reducing the drag coefficient to 0.22 for improved range. FAW-VW’s flagship Talagon SUV debuts Aug 5, priced ¥299.9k–319.9k. Measuring 5168 mm long on a 2980 mm wheelbase, it offers two grille designs, a 15-in central screen, 11.6-in passenger display, 8155 SoC, column shifter, six-/seven-seat layout with ventilated/heated/massaging second-row seats, upgraded Q.Pilot ADAS and a 200 kW EA888 engine badged 450TSI.

On August 2, Geely opened pre-orders for the refreshed Boyue: four trims priced ¥91,900–112,900, deliveries in August. The mid-cycle update brings a vertical-bar grille, two-tone floating roof and a 14.6-inch infotainment running Flyme Auto 1.8 as standard. Wheelbase grows 6 mm to 2,707 mm; power remains 1.5T mated to 7DCT, backed by L2-grade ADAS with 16 active-safety functions.
