FAW-Volkswagen has unveiled the ID.AURA T6 Dragon Boat Special Edition at the GBA Auto Show, a pure-electric midsize SUV built on the CEA architecture with a 5-seat layout, roof-mounted LiDAR, and Corewise intelligent driving assistance. The special edition features Lingnan kapok-inspired red paint with golden auspicious cloud and dragon scale motifs. The company also introduced its Golden Hybrid technology, pairing an EA211 dedicated hybrid engine with a TQ251 transmission to achieve 3L/100km fuel consumption and over 1,400km combined range. The system includes Xingyun intelligent driving with end-to-end highway NOA and cross-floor memory parking. The Magotan PHEV and Tayron L PHEV are scheduled for launch at the end of June.

The ninth-generation Toyota Hilux has launched in Japan, offered in Z and Z Adventure trims priced at 4,980,800 yen and 5,500,000 yen respectively. Powered by a 1GD-FTV 2.8L four-cylinder turbodiesel producing 204PS/500Nm, it pairs with a six-speed automatic and part-time 4WD. Built on the IMV ladder frame platform, it features electric power steering, rear disc brakes, and the new Multi-Terrain System with selectable drive modes. A 360-degree camera with underfloor view and a rear locking differential are also standard.

Geely has released official images of the updated Cowboy compact SUV, scheduled for launch on May 30. The facelift retains the outgoing model's off-road styling package, measuring 4,442 mm by 1,860 mm by 1,770 mm with a 2,640 mm wheelbase. The roof rack offers 1.3 m² of cargo area with a 50 kg load capacity, while the rear-mounted waterproof storage pod and optional all-terrain tyres reinforce its rugged character. Audi has confirmed the A2 e-tron all-electric entry-level model will debut in fall 2026, built on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform shared with the Q4 e-tron, Q5 e-tron, and ID. series. The prototype retains the original 1999 A2's MPV-inspired silhouette with a lower roofline and sleek full-width taillights, promising outstanding aerodynamics. Production will take place at Audi's Ingolstadt headquarters, marking the electrified revival of the iconic nameplate.

Audi has opened pre-sales for the E7X, offering five variants priced from RMB 289,800 to RMB 379,800 in the competitive 300,000-yuan pure-electric SUV segment. Built on a 900V high-voltage architecture with German chassis engineering and a "smart living room" cockpit, the E7X carries over design elements from the E5 Sportback. Its signature "ring light surface" features enlarged light rings paired with a broad front fascia for a commanding presence, while the diamond light curtain pays homage to Audi's iconic single-frame grille. Available in six colours, the E7X targets rivals including NIO, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, positioning itself as a technology-driven flagship in the premium EV market.

FAW's Yueyi 08 flagship mid-size sedan will open pre-sales on May 29 under the brand's R series. Available in both BEV and EREV powertrains, the model features a Qualcomm 8295P cockpit chip and an intelligent assisted driving system co-developed with Horizon Robotics, with LiDAR modules on higher trims. Exterior design includes a closed grille with "Galaxy Waterfall" lighting, frameless aerodynamic mirrors, semi-flush door handles, and frameless electric suction doors, paired with 19-inch multi-spoke wheels and orange brake calipers. Measuring 4,920 mm by 1,920 mm by 1,475 mm with a 2,900 mm wheelbase, the rear features full-width LED taillights and an electric liftback tailgate for enhanced practicality.
