Mercedes-AMG unveiled the AMG GT SUV at its 140th anniversary celebration in Stuttgart – the brand's first native pure EV high-performance SUV since becoming independent, built on the exclusive AMG.EA platform. Positioned as a mid-to-large pure EV high-performance SUV, it directly targets the Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric, with global deliveries starting in early 2027. Three variants are offered: GT 63, GT 55 and GT 53. The GT 63 and GT 55 use three axial-flux motors (1 front, 2 rear) producing a combined 860kW (1,169HP) with ~2,000Nm torque, achieving 0-100km/h in ~2.5s and 0-200km/h in 6.8s at 270km/h top speed. Battery options are 106kWh and 128kWh with 800V architecture delivering up to 700km WLTP range, and 710kW charging adds 450km in just 10 minutes.

BYD Denza N8, a new mid-large 5-seat pure electric SUV, will open small-scale pre-orders on Oct 26 and launch officially in November. It features a 3075mm wheelbase, sky HUD + panoramic dual-screen cockpit, and offers 2WD single-motor (320kW/370kW) and 4WD tri-motor (890kW combined) powertrain options.

The Omoda C7 is expected to debut in Malaysia shortly, the first model designed specifically for the Omoda|Jaecoo international lineup, launching in petrol form before the PHEV follows, with a third hybrid variant likely arriving well into 2027. Known as the Omoda 7 in selected markets, its SHS-H hybrid system debuts a 5kWh battery (versus 1.83kWh on the Jaecoo J5/J7 HEVs) offering 2.2kW vehicle-to-load capability – a first for conventional HEVs – plus a Super Quiet Mode, with total range likely exceeding 1,000km. The hybrid pairs a 1.5L Atkinson-cycle turbo four-cylinder (143PS/215Nm) with a 204PS/310Nm motor and single-speed DHT for 224PS/295Nm combined. The front-drive petrol version uses a 1.6L turbo (197PS/290Nm) with 7-speed wet DCT, while the PHEV uses a 1.5L hybrid-specific turbo (156PS/220Nm) with 204PS motor for 360PS/530Nm combined and a BYD-supplied 18.3kWh Blade LFP battery delivering 95km EV range.

Social media photos suggest the facelifted Proton S70 MC2 (turbocharged version) may gain a new RS variant, though authenticity remains unverified. A Threads post claiming to show a "Proton S70 RS" shows a suspected new S70 being towed with black side mirrors and door handles, while the rear fenders and wheels are taped over, claiming revised exterior and X50-derived interior with Flagship and Flagship X variants. Although posted under the name "protoncarsofficial", Proton has no official Threads account, and the two photos differ in tow warning text ("AWAS" present in one), raising doubts about AI generation or editing. Another post shows a camouflaged S70 at a petrol station with a red centre armrest visible, echoing X50 interior rumours. Power is expected from the 1.5L BHE15-EFZ turbo engine (181PS/290Nm) with 7-speed wet DCT. Final naming, equipment and pricing await Proton's confirmation.

The 2026 Li Auto i6 will launch on Oct 28 and start deliveries in early November. As Li Auto's first global-oriented all-electric SUV, it adopts the new Lianshan electric vehicle architecture and 96kWh 5C in-house battery, delivering 780km CLTC range for the RWD variant. It receives upgrades in six dimensions including lighting, display, seating, storage, chips and range, with standard Snapdragon 8797 cockpit chip and Mahe M100 ADAS chip.

The Seres AIVA ME7 physical vehicle has been unveiled, positioned as a 200k+ RMB pure electric coupe SUV with MIIT certification. It integrates ByteDance Volcano Engine Doubao LLM cockpit and DeepMotion autonomous driving system, offers single/dual motor variants with ternary lithium battery, and features a 3050mm wheelbase.
