Porsche Cayenne Electric is officially launched in Malaysia with SUV and Coupé variants. Built on PPE platform, it features dual-motor AWD, 113kWh battery pack, max 669km WLTP range and 390kW ultra-fast charging, marking the brand's third all-electric model.

China's mandatory national standard for autonomous driving safety requirements (GB 44721—2026) has been approved and will take effect on July 1, 2027. The standard applies to vehicles with L3 and L4 highly automated driving systems (Class M and N), excluding automatic parking systems. It requires automakers to establish lifecycle safety guarantees covering product design, manufacturing and post-deployment, ensuring the autonomous system achieves safety levels at least equivalent to a competent driver without posing unreasonable risks. The standard specifies dynamic driving task requirements across scenarios and minimum risk strategy triggers. Human-machine interaction must include clear activation/deactivation prompts, and L3 systems require driver takeover monitoring. Compared to the UN ADS GTR, China's standard provides more detailed technical requirements tailored to its road traffic environment.

Changan has announced that the Qinyuan Q06 will begin pre-sales on September 4. Positioned as a mid-size SUV on the SDA Tianxun architecture with a 2,940mm wheelbase, it features the Taihang distributed electric drivetrain. The exterior adopts a floating-light aesthetic with a closed grille, ring-style LED light bar and three-piece air intakes. The chassis uses a full-aluminum front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension. Interior highlights include a new three-spoke steering wheel, floating central screen, HUD, and ambient lighting, plus rear entertainment display, tray table, zero-gravity passenger seat and in-car refrigerator. All variants come standard with the Tianxun intelligent ADAS featuring lidar. The Q06 targets the mid-size NEV SUV market with both intelligent driving and refined chassis dynamics.

Spy shots have emerged of the Lexus RX Morizo RR, a high-performance variant developed by Toyota GAZOO Racing. Featuring a bespoke sports kit and lowered stance, the prototype debuts in a copper "Crest" paint finish with a redesigned sport bumper preserving the RX's signature trapezoidal grille and adding brake cooling ducts. The fenders flare outward for a wide-body effect, riding on 21-inch multi-spoke alloys shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tires (265/40 ZR21 front, 295/35 ZR21 rear). Braking is upgraded to fixed calipers with drilled discs, while the rear bumper gains a twin-exit exhaust system replacing the standard model's hidden setup. The RX Morizo RR marks GAZOO Racing's second sporty Lexus model following the LBX Morizo RR, targeting the high-performance lifestyle SUV segment.

Genesis unveiled at its Investor Day that the brand's first extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) SUV will launch in Q1 2027, marking a strategic pivot from an EV-only approach to a multi-powertrain lineup. Key technical highlights include Hyundai Motor Group's next-generation battery cells delivering double the output and 40 percent faster charging versus the prior high-nickel pack, Thermal Runaway Protection (TRP) structural architecture preventing thermal propagation, and a cloud-connected BMS monitoring cell voltage, thermal peaks and internal resistance in real time—targeting up to 20 percent battery life extension by 2028. Looking ahead, Genesis aims to expand to over 40 global markets and 350,000 annual sales by 2030. By deploying EREV technology alongside pure EVs, Genesis is positioning itself to gain ground in the broader luxury electrified mobility landscape.

MCE Holdings has secured a 40-month contract worth RM54.28 million from Perodua to supply electronic components—including the head unit, ADAS modules and reverse camera—for a new internal combustion engine vehicle, with production slated to begin by July 31, 2027. Components will be manufactured at MCE's newly completed park in Serendah, Selangor. MCE already supplies parts for Perodua's first EV, the QV-E. Industry observers believe the model could be a refreshed third-generation Myvi, whose monthly sales slipped to fourth place in July behind the Bezza, Saga and Axia. A Myvi facelift could help Perodua reclaim lost market share from Proton's updated Saga.
