Nissan to Export Electric Vehicles from China to Expand Overseas Markets
Nissan plans to export electric vehicles (EVs) from its Chinese factories to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other regions starting in 2026. The N7 mid-size sedan, the first EV developed in China, will be among the first to be exported. Nissan has invested in China's IAT Automobile Technology to develop software for export markets. Additionally, Nissan has established a joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group to handle vehicle exports. Nissan aims to leverage the cost-effectiveness of Chinese EVs to enhance its competitiveness in overseas markets.
BYD SHARK Pickup Arrives in Chile with DMO Technology to Redefine Pickup Standards
BYD has officially launched the SHARK pickup in the Chilean market. The SHARK is the first pickup to feature DMO (Dual Mode Off-road) technology, combining the performance and efficiency of traditional combustion vehicles with electric vehicles. Equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine and dual electric motors, the SHARK offers over 430 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 5.7 seconds. It features BYD's Blade Battery integrated via CTC (Cell-to-Chassis) technology, capable of charging from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes. The vehicle includes a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen, a 10.8-inch dashboard, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and is available in black, blue, and white. The SHARK also boasts a payload capacity of 850 kg and a towing capacity of 2,500 kg, along with six airbags and the DiPilot driving assistance system.

Quad-motor power remains 1,000 kW; prices stay RM 628k–708k, keeping it China’s priciest home-grown luxury EV sedan.

2026 Proton X70 Facelift Teased: Gets X50’s 1.5L i-GT Turbo with 181 PS/290 Nm, Debuts Thursday
Proton officially announced that the X70 will soon launch a "second minor facelift" model, confirming the replacement with the same 1.5L i-GT four cylinder turbocharged engine as the X50 minor facelift, with an output of 181 PS horsepower and 290 Nm torque. The new car will be released online at 4 pm this Thursday (8th). It is expected that the exterior, interior, and configuration will maintain the standard of minor modifications in August 2024, with only power updates, and prices may be slightly reduced.
