Hyundai has expanded the Staria lineup in Indonesia with fully electric and hybrid variants, both debuting at this year's Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). The Staria Electric VIP grade features a 218 PS motor paired with an 84 kWh battery delivering up to 544 km NEDC range (approximately 430 km WLTP). Its 800-volt architecture supports DC fast charging up to 350 kW, enabling a 10-80% charge in just 20 minutes, while V2L capability outputs 3.5 kW externally. The hybrid variant combines a 1.6L turbocharged engine (180 PS) with an electric motor (73.4 PS) for a combined 245 PS and 367 Nm, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Both VIP variants offer identical equipment including second-row 14-way power-adjustable VIP seats with massage function, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, and Hyundai's SmartSense driver assistance suite.

The 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid debuted at GIIAS 2026 in Indonesia, offered in VX-R (from Rp 2.716 billion / approximately RM620k) and GR-S (from Rp 2.816 billion / approximately RM643k) variants. Both use a parallel hybrid system with a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 producing 415 PS and 650 Nm, paired with a 36 kW electric motor (49 PS/250 Nm) and a 10-speed automatic. The VX-R gets a torque-sensing rear LSD while the GR-S features front and rear locking differentials. Off-road capabilities include Auto MTS, Turn Assist, and Crawl Control with 30°/25°/20° approach/breakover/departure angles. Visual differences from the diesel are minimal, mainly the HEV badge. Inside, both variants get 12.3-inch driver display and infotainment touchscreen, with the GR-S offering a red-and-black two-tone interior option.

The Toyota bZ4X Touring was launched at GIIAS 2026 in Indonesia at Rp 889 million (approximately RM205k), representing a Rp 90 million (RM21k) premium over the standard bZ4X. This estate version extends the regular model's tail by 140mm, adding 20-inch black alloys, full-width taillights, roof rails (80kg dynamic, 317kg static capacity), and a 600-liter boot that is 148L larger. The interior mirrors the facelifted bZ4X with a 14-inch touchscreen with physical climate knobs, nine JBL speakers, panoramic roof, and dual wireless chargers. The dual-motor AWD powertrain (227 PS front and rear) pairs with a 74.69 kWh NMC battery delivering 487 km WLTP range. Charging supports 22 kW AC and 150 kW DC (10-80% in 2.2 hours and 30 minutes respectively), while Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 ADAS is standard.

The BMW 3 Series cumulative sales in China have exceeded 2 million units, with new financial packages offered including 0% down payment at 0.99% annual interest rate or 80 yuan per day, plus purchase incentives. The BMW i3 interior will officially debut at the Chengdu Auto Show on August 21. The long-wheelbase i3 is planned for production in January 2027, measuring 4760/1865/1480mm with a 2,897mm wheelbase, featuring a 31L frunk and 420L trunk. It uses an 800V platform with sixth-generation eDrive, 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, 108kWh battery, and up to 912 km range.

The Li Auto i8 rear-wheel drive long-range version launched on August 6 at 309,800 yuan. Orders placed before August 31 enjoy benefits worth up to 35,750 yuan, including 3-year 0% interest or 5-year ultra-low interest financing, plus complimentary zero-gravity seats with 16-point massage. The single rear motor produces 250kW with 780km range, and adds an electric frunk (20-inch luggage capacity). Dimensions are 5085/1960/1740mm with a 3,050mm wheelbase, offering four body colors and two wheel options. The interior offers two color schemes, dual front zero-gravity seats with 16-point massage, and the right rear seat features a zero-gravity seat with 78° leg rest extension and 145° recline.

The Omoda 4 EV debuted at GIIAS 2026 following its ASEAN premiere in Jakarta. Positioned as a B-segment electric SUV measuring 4,420/1,870/1,570mm with a 2,700mm wheelbase, it features a single motor producing 160kW and 275Nm, delivering 0-100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and a top speed of 170 km/h. The 65.05kWh LFP battery from CATL offers up to 553 km NEDC range (470 km WLTP), with DC fast charging from 20-80% in 22 minutes at up to 119kW. Interior highlights include a 13.2-inch 2.5K portrait touchscreen with Snapdragon 8155, 8.88-inch instrument display, 50W wireless charging, and an 8-speaker audio system. Safety includes 18 ADAS functions. Indonesia will only receive the EV variant, while Malaysia is confirmed to get two variants when it launches next year.
