A Chery Q electric prototype has been spotted testing on Malaysian roads, positioned as a B-segment EV hatchback to compete with the Proton eMas 5. Measuring 4,195/1,811/1,573mm with a 2,700mm wheelbase, it is larger than the eMas 5. The Thailand-spec features a 122hp rear motor with a 41.278kWh LFP battery delivering 400km NEDC range (340km WLTP), supporting 85kW DC fast charging (30-80% in 16 minutes). Features include an 8.8-inch instrument display, 15.6-inch touchscreen, 50W wireless charging, 360-degree camera and powered tailgate (375L + 70L front). Expected under RM100,000 but priced above the eMas 5.

Spy shots of Hyundai's all-new Elantra (codename CN8c) have surfaced in China, with the overseas version (CN8) having premiered in June. As the eighth-generation model, it receives comprehensive upgrades to exterior, interior and powertrain while closely mirroring the global design. The new model features Hyundai's "Art of Steel" design language with sharp lines for a tech-focused, sporty appearance. Overseas dimensions are 4,765/1,855/1,425mm with a 2,750mm wheelbase, with Chinese spec likely to see further enlargement. The interior references the overseas version's 14.6-inch floating touchscreen and remote LCD instrument cluster running the Android-based Playos Connect infotainment system, with Chinese market localization expected.

Toyota has unveiled the all-new electric C-HR+, a crossover SUV set to launch in Europe later this year. Built on the e-TNGA platform, the C-HR+ is entirely independent of the combustion-engined C-HR. It offers three powertrain options: the base model features a 57.7kWh battery and front-mounted motor with 167 PS, achieving 0-100km/h in 8.6 seconds and a WLTP range of 455km. The mid-range model upgrades to a 77kWh battery with 224 PS, reaching 0-100km/h in 7.4 seconds and offering 600km of range. The top-tier dual-motor AWD variant produces 343 PS, accelerates to 100km/h in 5.2 seconds, and has a range of 525km. The C-HR+ measures 4,520mm x 1,870mm x 1,595mm with a 2,750mm wheelbase. It features a “Hammerhead” front design, a 14-inch touchscreen, high-mounted digital instrument cluster, and 416 litres of cargo space. The vehicle is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense as standard.

The all-new Yizhi EV2 officially launched with two variants priced at 41,900 yuan and 44,900 yuan, including a five-gift package worth 14,000 yuan. The exterior offers four colors with a closed grille and integrated light design with high-brightness projector headlights. The wraparound cabin features a 10.1-inch central screen and 5-inch LCD instrument, with a four-seat layout, 2,340mm wheelbase and independent rear doors for easy access. Boot space ranges from 105-750L. Features include One-box electronic drive-by-wire system, AutoHold and EPS. SAIC IM Motors officially opened pre-sales for the all-new LS6 on September 10, with a starting pre-sale price of 209,900 yuan. The Tank 300 front and rear solid axle version has been officially named "Hoker Road," launching before China's National Day. The exterior continues the standard version design with exclusive off-road kit and badging including black lower bumper, snorkel and towing device, with optional passive night vision system. Dimensions are 4,886/1,984/1,960mm with 3,010mm wheelbase, 41° approach angle and 34°/36° departure angle, riding on 265/70 R18 tires. The major change replaces the front double-wishbone independent suspension with a solid axle setup, achieving dual solid axles front and rear to accommodate 40-inch tires. Power options include a 2.0T engine (175kW) and 3.0T engine (265kW), with a robust front axle tube, links and short longitudinal arms expected with a high final drive ratio.
