Spy shots reveal BYD's first MPV for the Ocean Network, caught charging at a BYD ultra-fast charger. The front light signature clearly shows Ocean Network design language, though the overall profile differs significantly from the Ocean-V concept shown at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, leaning toward a more traditional MPV style. Equipment includes a large grille, conventional door handles and a roof-mounted LiDAR. The Ocean-V concept was a five-seat MPV featuring a sliding center screen, 180-degree rotating seats, auto-retracting steering wheel, front-row screen extension, hidden tables and one-key bed mode – whether these carry over to the production model remains to be seen. Expected launch by year-end.

The Deepal S07 AI Laser Edition launched on September 28 with 4 variants priced at 155,900-175,900 yuan and limited-time rights price of 149,900-169,900 yuan. Equipped with roof-mounted external LiDAR, the AI laser ADAS covers urban, highway and parking scenarios: urban supports roundabouts, unprotected left turns, narrow road encounters and U-turns; highway enables autonomous ramp entry/exit and intelligent lane changes; parking handles ultra-narrow spaces and dead-ends with remote parking. Interior features a 15.6-inch 2.5K central screen, Snapdragon 8295P chip, 55-inch AR-HUD and dual zero-gravity front seats. The 800V platform delivers 6C peak charging, adding nearly 400km in 9 minutes, with 725km CLTC range and 210kW motor. Standard FSD+HRS adaptive suspension included.

BYD has announced an increase in investment for its Brazilian EV factory from BRL 3 billion to BRL 5.5 billion. The facility, located in the Salvador metropolitan area of Bahia state, is set to have an initial production capacity of 150,000 units annually, manufacturing both electric and hybrid vehicles. Expected to commence operations within the year, BYD's commitment also includes the construction of five residential buildings for 4,230 employees, highlighting the company's long-term dedication and support for sustainable development in Brazil.

Suspension combines front double wishbone and rear five-link with front/rear stabilizers, FSD variable damping and Huawei EMB electronic braking, achieving 33m braking from 100km/h.

The Hongqi TianGong 07 officially launched October 10 with 3 variants, priced at 167,900-197,900 yuan after benefits. Eastern aesthetics minimalist design features a closed grille, distinctive headlights and Hongqi logo in four colors. With a flowing roofline, hidden handles and 5,000×1,915×1,490mm dimensions (3,000mm wheelbase), it offers a full-width taillight and ducktail. ADAS includes a 384-line dynamic LiDAR with Suonan 5.0 supporting urban/highway NOA, cross-floor memory parking and ETC. The 9H4M cage body uses 74% high-strength steel with 2,000 MPa crash path and 9-ton roof resistance. Interior wraps around with an 8.88-inch cluster and 17.3-inch center screen running Snapdragon 8397 and Lingxi Cockpit 6.0 with CarPlay, HiCar and Carlink. The co-pilot gets 16-way electric reclining seat with 18-speaker Bose audio with 7.1.4 panoramic sound. All models use 800V SiC e-drive: single motor 340kW/450Nm (5.6/5.8s 0-100), dual motors 190+340kW/770Nm (3.5s). The 75/85kWh battery delivers 640/730/680km CLTC range with 12-minute 10-80% fast charging.

The first production unit of the MENGSHI X700 has rolled off the line, launching late October at 249,800-289,800 yuan. Jointly developed with Huawei Qiankun, it's a mid-to-large plug-in hybrid SUV for light outdoor and versatile off-road use with body-on-frame construction, Huawei Qiankun and HarmonyOS cockpit. The 1.5L PHEV system with dual-motor AWD produces 518kW/940Nm, hitting 100km/h in 4.93 seconds with 285/360km CLTC EV range and 18-minute 20-80% charging. The 2.0 Stone Chassis pairs front double wishbone and rear five-link suspension with MRC magnetorheological dampers.
