Subaru has unveiled the Getaway, its largest electric SUV to date, sharing architecture with Toyota's electric Highlander. Set for US launch in late 2026 as a 2027 model, the seven-seater features standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with dual electric motors producing 420 hp, enabling 0-60 mph in under five seconds. The 95.8 kWh lithium-ion battery delivers over 300 miles of range, supporting 150 kW DC fast charging (10-80% in 30 minutes) via standard NACS connector for Tesla Supercharger network access. Off-road capabilities include 8.3 inches of ground clearance, X-Mode Dual Mode System with Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud settings, Grip Control and Downhill Assist Control, plus 3,500-pound towing capacity. Distinctive design elements include illuminated front and rear logos, ladder-style roof rack and unique fascias. A 77 kWh standard-range variant will join the lineup in 2027.

FAW-Toyota has launched the 2026 Avalon Star Shine Edition, with the 2.0L gasoline variant priced at RMB 179,800 and the 2.0L hybrid at RMB 217,800. Mercedes-Benz has released official interior images of the updated EQS, featuring a yoke-style half steering wheel and steer-by-wire technology as part of its second mid-cycle facelift. The redesigned steering wheel adopts dual-arc upper and lower sections to improve ingress/egress and reduce sightline obstruction, requiring redevelopment of the airbag system.
