Proton S70 Facelift Spied Testing with Updated Taillight Design
A camouflaged Proton S70 facelift has been spotted testing on Malaysian public roads, representing a Proton-led local mid-cycle update. The rear taillights are slimmer with segmented LEDs similar to those on the latest Saga, though oriented in the opposite direction. The current S70 MC1 is based on the Geely Emgrand, which received a 2025 facelift while the Chinese counterpart has progressed to its fifth generation. A naturally aspirated variant is expected to replace the B-segment Persona in Proton's local lineup.

Toyota Motor Thailand Lexus Group Vice President Suppakorn Rattavara unveiled the all-new eighth-generation Lexus ES on August 13 at The Mall Bangkapi, Bangkok. The model is Lexus's second BEV and first BEV sedan, embodying the "Experience Elegant and Electrified Sedan" philosophy. It offers a 2.5-litre hybrid and pure electric powertrain options reflecting the brand's Multi-Pathway strategy. The exterior features the new Spindle Body design with Twin L Signature Lamps and Slim Light Bar taillights, while the interior follows a Clean Tech and Elegant concept. Features include Hidden Switches, Electro-Shiftmatic system, new-generation multimedia with Mark Levinson audio and Lexus Safety System+ 4.0, maintaining the Lexus Driving Signature character.
BMW iX3 New Era China Version Debuts at Chengdu Auto Show with Panoramic iDrive
We captured the all-new BMW iX3 ahead of the Chengdu Auto Show opening on August 21, where pre-orders will begin. As the first model on BMW's New Era platform specifically for China, it debuts the new design language with a 3D illuminated grille and connected headlights creating a "digital angel wing" effect. The China-specific "mirror light corner" and semi-hidden door handles are notable upgrades. The interior debuts the Panoramic iDrive system with a panoramic view bridge, 3D head-up display, and a 17.9-inch central screen tilted 17.5 degrees toward the driver. The system integrates HUAWEI HiCar, Alibaba AI, and DeepSeek. The vehicle features an 800V architecture with front asynchronous and rear separately excited synchronous dual motors producing 351kW, delivering over 900km CLTC range with 400km replenished in just 10 minutes.

Xiaomi Pengcheng N70 and N90 Interiors Debut at Chengdu Auto Show, September Launch
Ahead of the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show, we captured live images of the Xiaomi Pengcheng N70 and N90, with both models set to debut their interiors at the show. The N70 Max is priced at 259,900 yuan pre-sale and the N90 Max at 299,900 yuan, scheduled for official release in September. The N90 Max is a large seven-seat flagship range-extended SUV at 5,285/1,998/1,825mm with a 3,080mm wheelbase, featuring a 2-2-3 seat layout, 180° rotating front seats, four zero-gravity seats, and a sliding central island console. It offers an 8.8-inch instrument cluster, 20-inch HUD, and 16.1-inch central screen running HyperOS with Snapdragon 8650 chip. The 1.5L range extender pairs with dual motors (210kW/100kW) and a 76kWh battery delivering 464km CLTC pure electric range and 1,705km combined range. The N70 Max is a large five-seat AWD range-extended SUV at 4,960/1,998/1,765mm with a 2,950mm wheelbase, available in single-motor (210kW) and dual-motor (210kW/100kW) configurations with 76kWh/52kWh batteries and up to 505km CLTC pure electric range.

New interior colours include Desert Sand Brown and Light Grey. Standard features include TSS driver assistance, HUD, 50W wireless charging, and ventilated/heated/massaging front seats. Fifth-Generation Mitsubishi Pajero Confirmed with S-AWC 4WD System, to Debut in Japan in Autumn 2026
Mitsubishi officially confirms that the fifth-generation Pajero hardcore off-road SUV, set to debut in Japan in autumn 2026, will be built on the body-on-frame pure ladder chassis of the third-generation Triton. It will be equipped with the S-AWC Super All-Wheel Control system paired with the Super Select 4WD-II system, balancing outstanding off-road capability and refined on-road driving comfort.
