Toyota Motor Corporation has unveiled the all-electric Highlander three-row SUV for North America, premiering in Ojai, California with sales scheduled to begin in late 2026. The BEV model will be produced at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky (TMMK) as the fourth battery electric vehicle in TMNA's lineup, following the bZ, C-HR and bZ Woodland. Ford has announced that the new model year Kuga will feature BlueCruise hands-free driving technology from April, making the semi-autonomous system available on one of Europe's most popular SUVs. Toyota has unveiled the fifth-generation Highlander SUV, transitioning exclusively to battery-electric powertrains and replacing the previous petrol and hybrid variants. Built on a modified TNGA-K platform, the three-row BEV is manufactured at Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Georgetown, Kentucky, with batteries produced at the new Liberty, North Carolina plant, marking Toyota's first US-assembled BEV. The fifth-generation Highlander is scheduled for US market launch later this year.
