The Volvo EX30 Cross Country has launched in Malaysia at RM218,888 (without insurance), RM10,000 less than the discontinued EX30 Ultra Twin Performance. The rugged version features blacked-out front/rear sections, skid plates, uncoloured wheel arch extensions and mudguards, with 19mm raised ride height and unique 19-inch wheels. Optional roof basket is valued at RM3,680. Interior gains a soundbar replacing door speakers and additional storage including a removable washable waste bin. The dual-motor AWD delivers up to 437km WLTP range and 3.7 seconds 0-100km/h. The first 100 buyers receive a launch package worth nearly RM21,800, including a RM12,000 cash rebate, complimentary wallbox and roof basket.

Changan officially launched the UNI-V hybrid on September 12 with two models at official prices of 114,900-119,900 yuan and limited-time prices of 109,900-113,900 yuan. Toyota Unveils the All-New Electric C-HR+ with Three Powertrain Options
Toyota has unveiled the all-new electric C-HR+, a crossover SUV set to launch in Europe later this year. Built on the e-TNGA platform, the C-HR+ is entirely independent of the combustion-engined C-HR. It offers three powertrain options: the base model features a 57.7kWh battery and front-mounted motor with 167 PS, achieving 0-100km/h in 8.6 seconds and a WLTP range of 455km. The mid-range model upgrades to a 77kWh battery with 224 PS, reaching 0-100km/h in 7.4 seconds and offering 600km of range. The top-tier dual-motor AWD variant produces 343 PS, accelerates to 100km/h in 5.2 seconds, and has a range of 525km. The C-HR+ measures 4,520mm x 1,870mm x 1,595mm with a 2,750mm wheelbase. It features a “Hammerhead” front design, a 14-inch touchscreen, high-mounted digital instrument cluster, and 416 litres of cargo space. The vehicle is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense as standard.

Volvo has unveiled the updated XC60 and XC90 with significantly extended plug-in hybrid range. Battery capacity doubles from 18.8kWh to 41.2kWh (37.9kWh usable), moved into the floor from the trunk. The XC60 delivers up to 200km and XC90 up to 164km WLTP pure electric range, over 2.5x and 2.6x respectively. The XC60 gets a new grille, bumper, hood, fenders and redesigned Thor's Hammer Matrix LED headlights, plus updated tailgate and taillights. Interior features an 11.2-inch central screen with latest Volvo UX system and Google Gemini voice assistant. Both retain the 2.0L four-cylinder + rear motor PHEV with 8-speed auto, delivering up to 1,240km total range. B5 mild-hybrid also available.

Volkswagen Mission Efficiency Concept Claims World's Most Efficient Near-Production EV, 1,278km Range
Volkswagen has unveiled the Mission Efficiency concept, claimed as the world's most efficient near-production electric car. Built on the MEB+ architecture, it completed an official test drive of 1,278.36 km consuming just 7.51 kWh/100 km including charging losses (6.89 kWh without). It features a 135 PS motor with 54.9 kWh battery, achieving a drag coefficient of 0.158 with 2.08 sq m frontal area. Aerodynamic features include active cooling flaps, clad rear wheels, full underbody cladding and flush door handles. Continental concept tyres have rolling resistance of 4.9 kg/tonne, approximately 25% below the EU Class A threshold. The 370W photovoltaic system integrated into the roof and boot lid can add up to 30 km range daily. Dimensions are 4,775 mm long and 1,392 mm tall with 2+2 seating and 481 litres of luggage space. At speeds above 80 km/h, energy consumption is over 30% lower than the standard ID. Polo.
