A camouflaged Proton S70 facelift has been spotted testing on Malaysian public roads, representing a Proton-led local mid-cycle update. The rear taillights are slimmer with segmented LEDs similar to those on the latest Saga, though oriented in the opposite direction. The current S70 MC1 is based on the Geely Emgrand, which received a 2025 facelift while the Chinese counterpart has progressed to its fifth generation. A naturally aspirated variant is expected to replace the B-segment Persona in Proton's local lineup.

Toyota Motor Thailand Lexus Group Vice President Suppakorn Rattavara unveiled the all-new eighth-generation Lexus ES on August 13 at The Mall Bangkapi, Bangkok. The new Li AUTO MEGA has been spied on the internet with its signature "pancake" wheels making a strong impression. The new model continues the current generation's highly recognizable design with additional chrome trim on the front for enhanced luxury. Available in white or black "pancake" wheels, the white paint with white wheels combination is particularly striking. The rear has been revised with stronger three-dimensionality. Geely announces that the BX L i-HEV will make its public debut at the Chengdu Auto Show. The model adopts the "Shanhe Qiyun" design concept with a large waterfall grille and star-ring connected light bar, featuring a roof-mounted LiDAR and the Qianli Haohan H5 driver assistance system supporting urban and highway navigation. Dimensions are 4,730/1,910/1,710mm with a 2,785mm wheelbase. We captured the SAIC Volkswagen ID.ERA 5X on August 19 ahead of the Chengdu Auto Show opening, where it will make its world premiere. It is Volkswagen's first mass-produced model based on the CMP platform and equipped with the CEA electrical architecture.
