Indonesian state-owned automaker Aletra has officially unveiled its second model, the L7 electric MPV, at the 2026 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). Positioned below its debut L8, the L7 targets Indonesia's popular entry-level MPV segment, competing against conventional ICE models such as the Toyota Avanza, Honda BR-V, and Mitsubishi Xpander. The launch signals Aletra's strategic push into the mass-market tier, accelerating the adoption of electrified vehicles among mainstream consumers.

BAIC sub-brand Arcfox plans to enter Malaysia, though models are not yet confirmed. The global website shows T1, T5, Kaola S and S5. The T1 launched in Indonesia at Rp 393 million (first 1,000 buyers at Rp 373 million). Warranty 6yr/160k km, battery 8yr/160k km, free service 4yr/80k km, in five colors. Arcfox accelerates international strategy in Southeast Asia.

The electric Chery J6 will gain a J6T CSH in Indonesia, based on the iCaur 03 EV. Unlike PHEV systems, the 1.5T engine acts solely as a range extender. The rear-wheel-drive version produces 252PS/300Nm—68PS and 80Nm more than the EV—achieving 0-100km/h in 7.9 seconds to a top speed of 160km/h. Range-extended powertrain provides new choice for Indonesian consumers and enriches Chery's local lineup.

From official sources, the 2027 Chery Arrizo 8 PRO will launch on August 10, with upgrades to exterior and interior, featuring the 8255 chip and Falcon 500 driver assistance system. Reference prices for the current model range from 116,900 to 149,900 yuan. Exterior upgrades include a larger grille with dot-matrix decoration and chrome trim. Minor changes to side and rear, with red brake calipers and smart driving blue lights. The Falcon 500 uses a pure vision solution for urban memory navigation and highway NOA.

The main star at GIIAS 2026 is the Coolray—a Geely-badged Proton X50 from Malaysia—with current interior and powertrain but pre-facelift exterior.
