Hongqi, a luxury brand of FAW Group, has signed an MoU with Quill Group, which has obtained the exclusive rights as the official importer and CKD distributor for Hongqi’s entry into Malaysia. Hongqi plans to launch officially in Malaysia in the middle of this year, with its L5 model for VVIPs only, and is advancing the global layout of new energy SUVs.

smart's Malaysian distributor Pro-Net has launched the limited-edition #5 Brabus Laser Red Edition, featuring a carefully curated Laser Red finish aligned with Brabus' high-performance identity and SUV positioning. Geely's Galaxy sub-brand has unveiled the "Thunder" 16-in-1 electric drive system, developed by subsidiary InfiMotion, claiming to be a world first and achieving a production-record 93.8% efficiency. The 800V system integrates 12 hardware functions (motor, motor controller, reducer, DCDC, OBC, PDU, HBMS, LBMS, VCU, TMS, active pre-charge control, and power domain gateway) and four software capabilities (intelligent energy management, intelligent charging management, intelligent motion control, and intelligent health management). This eliminates over 180 components, achieving a power density of 16 PS per kg. Weighing 75kg with 1,200 PS output, the system cuts high-voltage wiring by 30% and low-voltage by 15%.
