Hongqi, a luxury brand of FAW Group, has signed an MoU with Quill Group, which has obtained the exclusive rights as the official importer and CKD distributor for Hongqi’s entry into Malaysia. Hongqi plans to launch officially in Malaysia in the middle of this year, with its L5 model for VVIPs only, and is advancing the global layout of new energy SUVs.

Geely Galaxy will debut the Battleship 700 on July 24, a new mid-to-large SUV featuring a rugged, boxy design language. The Denza Z9S production vehicle has officially debuted as a more compact electric sports sedan compared to the Z9, featuring all-new exterior and interior design with enhanced power and range capabilities. The exterior adopts a roof-mounted LiDAR and a new split headlamp design with dual-slat LED upper lighting and vertically arranged headlamps integrated into the front bumper, complemented by a full-width fascia panel and dual-section front lip for heightened sportiness. Powertrain options include single-motor and tri-motor variants, further expanding Denza's portfolio in the premium electric sports sedan segment.

iCaur Malaysia has announced the iCaur V23 electric SUV has switched to locally assembled (CKD) production, currently offering a single iWD all-wheel-drive variant priced at RM 132,780—nearly unchanged from the previous CBU version (RM 132,800). The dual-motor AWD system produces 211 PS and 292 Nm, achieving 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds with a 140 km/h top speed. An 81.76 kWh battery delivers 430 km NEDC range (approximately 360 km WLTP). Charging capabilities include 104 kW DC fast charging (20-80% in ~42 minutes), 6.6 kW AC charging, and 3.3 kW V2L reverse power supply. Measuring 4,220/1,915/1,845 mm with a 2,735 mm wheelbase, the V23 features MacPherson front and multi-link rear suspension, plus a rear square storage compartment. Geely's Galaxy sub-brand has unveiled the "Thunder" 16-in-1 electric drive system, developed by subsidiary InfiMotion, claiming to be a world first and achieving a production-record 93.8% efficiency. The 800V system integrates 12 hardware functions (motor, motor controller, reducer, DCDC, OBC, PDU, HBMS, LBMS, VCU, TMS, active pre-charge control, and power domain gateway) and four software capabilities (intelligent energy management, intelligent charging management, intelligent motion control, and intelligent health management). This eliminates over 180 components, achieving a power density of 16 PS per kg. Weighing 75kg with 1,200 PS output, the system cuts high-voltage wiring by 30% and low-voltage by 15%. Standing under 325mm tall, the system provides additional 28mm of cabin space.
