FAW-Volkswagen has unveiled the ID.AURA T6 Dragon Boat Special Edition at the GBA Auto Show, a pure-electric midsize SUV built on the CEA architecture with a 5-seat layout, roof-mounted LiDAR, and Corewise intelligent driving assistance. The special edition features Lingnan kapok-inspired red paint with golden auspicious cloud and dragon scale motifs. The company also introduced its Golden Hybrid technology, pairing an EA211 dedicated hybrid engine with a TQ251 transmission to achieve 3L/100km fuel consumption and over 1,400km combined range. The system includes Xingyun intelligent driving with end-to-end highway NOA and cross-floor memory parking. The Magotan PHEV and Tayron L PHEV are scheduled for launch at the end of June.

Xpeng's VP of Finance and Accounting Wu Jiaming has confirmed the company will introduce its XNGP (Xpeng Navigation Guided Pilot) intelligent driving system to the Malaysian market within two years via OTA updates, pending regulatory approval. The brand plans to launch three new SUVs in Malaysia this year—compact, mid-size, and full-size—including the flagship GX available in both BEV and REEV configurations. CKD production is scheduled to commence in the second half of 2026 in partnership with EPMB, with a focus on localising the EV supply chain, including high-voltage batteries and ADAS components, to align with Malaysia's electric vehicle development policies.

BYD has unveiled official images of the Dolphin G DM-i, a dedicated plug-in hybrid hatchback developed specifically for the European market. Featuring a DM plug-in hybrid powertrain with a 1,000km combined range, the model measures 4,160mm long and 1,825mm wide, adopting a lower, wider stance tailored to European compact hatchback preferences. Design highlights include full-width rising LED headlamps, active air intake, semi-flush door handles, and sporty blacked-out alloy wheels. Launching in June with deliveries in autumn, the Dolphin G DM-i represents an independent product line rather than a powertrain upgrade, strategically expanding BYD's European NEV portfolio to address range anxiety and charging infrastructure concerns.

Arcfox has launched the Wendao V9, the first MPV under its premium Wendao product line, with four variants priced from RMB 194,800 to RMB 249,800 under limited-time offers. Positioned as a mid-large EREV MPV, it measures 5,300 mm by 1,980 mm by 1,850 mm with a 3,200 mm wheelbase. The cabin features a 22-speaker sky-channel audio system and second-row independent zero-gravity massage seats with 16-point massage, roof-mounted screens, tray tables, and a refrigerator. Intelligent driving is handled by the Yuanjing ADAS supporting urban and highway NOA navigation. The chassis employs a self-developed magnetorheological damping system with all-aluminium suspension and rear-wheel steering. Power comes from a 1.5T range-extender paired with an electric motor, delivering 227 kW combined peak power, 310 km CLTC electric range, and 1,330 km combined range, with a CATL Yaoyao LFP battery supporting 3C fast charging for 20%-80% replenishment in 15 minutes.

Geely will launch the 2026 Okavango and Coolray facelifts in Vietnam on June 5. The Okavango, equivalent to the Haoyue L facelift, features a 1.5L BHE15 turbo engine delivering 181PS/290Nm and a 14.6-inch Flyme Auto infotainment system. The Coolray shares its platform with the Proton X50. This update may also underpin the Proton X90 facelift. Geely's Vietnam plant, part of its localized manufacturing strategy, is scheduled to commence production by year-end for domestic and LHD export markets.

Lotus has unveiled the Emira 420 Sport, the brand's final pure internal combustion model powered by the Mercedes-AMG M139 2.0-litre inline-four turbocharged engine, now producing 420 PS and 500 Nm through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to the rear wheels. The model achieves a 25 kg weight reduction via optional lightweight components including carbon fibre parts, a titanium exhaust, and a lithium-ion 12V battery, while aerodynamic enhancements add 25 kg of downforce. Featuring a retuned chassis with a 5 mm lower centre of gravity, Multimatic two-way adjustable dampers, and the Lotus Track Performance lap timing system, the 420 Sport delivers heightened track-focused dynamics. First deliveries are scheduled for August 2026, marking the end of Lotus's AMG engine era as the brand transitions to Horse Powertrain W30 units and electrified powertrains.
