BYD has officially launched the SHARK pickup in the Chilean market. The SHARK is the first pickup to feature DMO (Dual Mode Off-road) technology, combining the performance and efficiency of traditional combustion vehicles with electric vehicles. Equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine and dual electric motors, the SHARK offers over 430 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 5.7 seconds. It features BYD's Blade Battery integrated via CTC (Cell-to-Chassis) technology, capable of charging from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes. The vehicle includes a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen, a 10.8-inch dashboard, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and is available in black, blue, and white. The SHARK also boasts a payload capacity of 850 kg and a towing capacity of 2,500 kg, along with six airbags and the DiPilot driving assistance system.

The Bugatti Tourbillon, successor to the Chiron, marks the brand's first foray into plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV). It features an 8.3L V16 engine and two electric motors, delivering a combined 1,800PS and a top speed of 445km/h (with the Speed Key option). The Tourbillon showcases intricate craftsmanship and advanced technology, with a limited production run of 250 units, starting at 3.8 million euros.

The Buick E5 mid-size SUV will debut in Q1 and hit the market later this year. Built on Buick’s Xiaoyao architecture, it features split Star River Unfurls Its Wings headlamps, roof-mounted LiDAR and Momenta R6 ADAS for full-scenario assisted driving, plus a Snapdragon 8775P-powered cockpit and “True Dragon Plug-in Pro” hybrid system in a five-seat layout.

The 2026 Venucia D60 DD-i Whale will debut on Jan 13, promising upgrades in driving range, charging speed and fuel consumption. Design remains unchanged with the “Whale Wing” theme and 2700 mm wheelbase. Current models priced ¥129 900-149 900 offer aggressive incentives; updated pricing and specs are expected alongside the launch.

On Jan 12, Mercedes-Benz rolled out a China-led update for the pure-electric CLA virtual assistant, integrating the Doubao large-language model and AISpeech tech. Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia has opened bookings for the B-segment Jaecoo J5, priced around RM120k. A 1.5L turbo-petrol unit delivers 147 PS/210 Nm to the front wheels via CVT, achieving 0-100 km/h in 10.2 s and 7.5 L/100 km WLTP fuel consumption. Measuring 4,380×1,860×1,650 mm on a 2,620 mm wheelbase, the SUV offers 480 L boot space, panoramic glass roof, full-LED lighting, 13.2-inch 2K portrait infotainment, 8-inch digital cluster, wireless charger and L2 ADAS, positioning it against the Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-30 and Proton X50.
