The refreshed Hongqi HQ9 PHEV appears on China’s 25th tax-exempt list with a 39.5kWh pack delivering 173km or 168km electric range. A 120kW 2.0T petrol engine forms the plug-in hybrid, while design keeps the vertical-bar grille and full-width taillights on its 5222×2005×1935mm luxury MPV body.

Nissan plans to export electric vehicles (EVs) from its Chinese factories to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other regions starting in 2026. The N7 mid-size sedan, the first EV developed in China, will be among the first to be exported. Nissan has invested in China's IAT Automobile Technology to develop software for export markets. Additionally, Nissan has established a joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group to handle vehicle exports. Nissan aims to leverage the cost-effectiveness of Chinese EVs to enhance its competitiveness in overseas markets.

BYD has officially launched the SHARK pickup in the Chilean market. The SHARK is the first pickup to feature DMO (Dual Mode Off-road) technology, combining the performance and efficiency of traditional combustion vehicles with electric vehicles. Equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine and dual electric motors, the SHARK offers over 430 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 5.7 seconds. It features BYD's Blade Battery integrated via CTC (Cell-to-Chassis) technology, capable of charging from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes. The vehicle includes a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen, a 10.8-inch dashboard, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and is available in black, blue, and white. The SHARK also boasts a payload capacity of 850 kg and a towing capacity of 2,500 kg, along with six airbags and the DiPilot driving assistance system.

On Jan 7 NIO released the ET9 Millionth-Unit Limited Edition—only nine cars worldwide, priced RMB 818k (BaaS: 710k). Each of the three colour themes is limited to three units and carries “1,000,000” badges outside and embroidered logos inside. The flagship fastback keeps split headlights, mast LiDAR and a 520kW/700N·m dual-motor setup good for 620km CLTC range, plus 10 years of free battery-swap and exclusive owner benefits, blending collectability with flagship luxury.

On Jan 7 Xiaomi opened pre-orders for the refreshed SU7 lineup priced RMB 229,900-309,900, up RMB 10-14k but subject to adjustment before April 2026 launch. Upgrades include revised styling, retuned suspension, faster-charging new e-motors and ADAS hardware. A dedicated backup power supply for door locks enhances safety, while the SU7 Pro now exceeds 900 km CLTC range.

On Jan 7 Xpeng unveiled refreshed G6 mid-size and G9 full-size SUVs ahead of their Jan 8 launch. Designs retain the signature star-ring light bar and closed grille, while cabin computing power is boosted via new SoC. The G9 keeps 351-575 hp single/twin-motor options and 79-93 kWh LFP packs for 625-725 km CLTC range.
