Nissan plans to export electric vehicles (EVs) from its Chinese factories to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other regions starting in 2026. The N7 mid-size sedan, the first EV developed in China, will be among the first to be exported. Nissan has invested in China's IAT Automobile Technology to develop software for export markets. Additionally, Nissan has established a joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group to handle vehicle exports. Nissan aims to leverage the cost-effectiveness of Chinese EVs to enhance its competitiveness in overseas markets.

Dongfeng Honda will launch the updated HR-V on Jan 8, adding Pro and Max variants. The compact SUV keeps its blacked-out honeycomb styling, measures 4569/1840/1611 mm on a 2655 mm wheelbase, and pairs a 134 kW/240 Nm 1.5T with CVT. Independent rear suspension and CONNECT 3.0 infotainment are standard; prices are promised to be more attractive.

BMW Group has finalized the trademark transfer of ALPINA, the 60-year-old BMW-tuned performance and customization marque, now operating as an independent high-performance sub-brand within the group, set to expand bespoke models and performance upgrades in the luxury segment.

Proton delivered 216 eMas 5 EVs by 31 Dec 2025, with orders topping 14.6k; combined eMas 7 sales brought total eMas vehicles on road to 9,549. The eMas 5 Prime (RM56.8k) and Premium (RM69.8k) offer 225 km and 325 km WLTP ranges. A 218 PS eMas 7 PHEV—based on the Geely Galaxy Starship 7—will follow in 2026, delivering 83 km electric range and expanding Proton’s electrified line-up.

The BYD Seal 6 DM-i Touring—already on sale in China and the UK—offers 675-1535 L cargo space and 1350 km WLTP range. The PHEV pairs a 97 PS 1.5L engine with a single motor: Boost spec delivers 184 PS and 55 km EV range; Comfort spec ups to 194 PS and 105 km EV range with 26 kW DC charging. Prices start at £35k (≈RM191k).

The JMEV Yi, a C-segment EV measuring 4675×1835×1480 mm with a 2750 mm wheelbase, was spied on Malaysian roads wearing trade plate B 5034 A. The export version pairs a 63 kWh NMC battery with a 147 PS/225 Nm motor for 460 km WLTP range and 30-min 30-80 % DC charging. Chinese pricing starts at RMB 129,800 [46], suggesting a local price from around RM75k if launched.
