NIO ES8 Rear Entertainment Downgraded Due to Chip Shortage, Users Compensated
Citing a shortage of rear-seat entertainment expansion chips, NIO will switch to a revised hardware package for ES8s rolling off the line from 22 Dec 2025. The update drops USB local video playback and USB-C video-out to external monitors, while wireless mirroring and USB lossless audio remain intact.
