Perodua has confirmed that its first all-electric vehicle is undergoing trial production at its factory in Rawang, Selangor, with plans to launch and commence sales by December. The new model boasts a range of 400-410 km, accelerates from 0-100 km/h in approximately 6-7 seconds, and has a top speed of 165 km/h, positioning it as the brand's performance flagship. It adopts a battery leasing model, with a capped vehicle price of 80,000 MYR and a monthly sales target of 2,500 units. Compared to its competitor, the Proton eMAS 5 (325 km range, 0-50 km/h in 3.9 seconds), it holds advantages in both range and acceleration, though the leasing costs and market acceptance will need to be closely monitored.
