Rumors suggest that Proton is planning a new Saga sub-brand, and designer Theophilus Chin has created a "hypothetical" Proton Saga Cross SUV to compete with models like the Perodua Ativa, Honda WR-V, and Chery Tiggo Cross. Theo envisions a lineup including the Saga Persona (sedan), Saga Iriz (hatchback), Saga Exora (MPV), and Saga Cross (SUV). The design features angular headlamps integrated into a wide grille, black wheel arch mouldings, roof rails, an X70-like shoulder line kink at the C-pillar, full-width tail lamps, and a rear diffuser-like element housing twin tailpipes. The Ranger, which accounts for about one-third of the total production, redefined the mid-size pickup segment in 2023 with its new generation. The Pacheco Plant is a key global production center for Ford, exporting around 70% of its production to various Latin American markets. Nio to Launch Its First Right-Hand Drive Model, the Firefly EV, in Singapore
On August 19, Nio announced that it will launch its first right-hand drive model, the Firefly EV, in Singapore in 2026 in partnership with Wearnes Automotive. First launched in China in December 2024, the Firefly EV is available in two variants priced at 119,800 and 125,800 yuan. With the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program, the base Free (Zizai) variant is priced at 79,800 yuan, while the top-spec Luminous (Faguang) variant is priced at 85,800 yuan. Both variants feature a 42.1-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and a rear electric motor with 143 PS and 200 Nm of torque, offering a CLTC-rated range of 420 km. The EV supports 100 kW DC fast charging and 7 kW AC charging, and comes with a 3.68 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) system. Measuring 4,003 mm long, 1,781 mm wide, and 1,557 mm tall with a 2,615 mm wheelbase, the five-seat Firefly EV is positioned as a compact vehicle. The entry into Singapore is part of Nio's global expansion plan, which also includes launching multiple models in Costa Rica and Uzbekistan.
