Nissan's next-generation Leaf is set to launch globally at the end of this month. The third-generation Leaf is positioned as a crossover SUV, featuring Nissan's latest design language. The vehicle is equipped with an active grille shutter at the front that automatically opens and closes based on speed and battery temperature to optimize drag coefficient, which is as low as 0.25 (Euro-spec) or 0.26 (other markets). Additionally, the car features electrically retractable door handles to further reduce drag. The rear design remains undisclosed and is expected to be revealed at the official launch.

BYD Atto 2 Owners to Benefit from Mobile Charging and Rescue Services
As the market share of battery-electric vehicles grows, demand for user support services such as mobile charging and rescue recharge is also on the rise. For owners of the newly launched BYD Atto 2, Sime Motors has partnered with Power Up Malaysia to provide vehicle charging support. This service is included in the 12-month Sime Platinum 4+ by Power Up subscription, offering up to four mobile vehicle charging sessions per month, up to two vehicle hand-wash, vacuum, and tyre shine services per month, and up to two free EV rescue services per year in selected areas. The Power Up mobile charging/rescue vehicle, based on a single-cab Ford Ranger, is equipped with a 120 kWh battery and can dispense up to 120 kW DC. The initial deployment covers Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, and Penang, with plans to expand to four units in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya, and two in Penang by the end of the year. Full coverage of Klang Valley and Penang will be achieved by January 2026, with Johor Bahru included by Q1 2026. Allianz also operates an EV rescue fleet, including the RoboRanger, a remote-controlled robotic cart for confined spaces, and two conventional EV Ranger vehicles, each providing up to 10 kWh of charge at up to 80 kW DC. These services are part of the Allianz EV Shield vehicle insurance policy for EVs, with policyholders receiving RM200 in charging credits.
