MINI COOPER Electric Launches Limited Edition "Green Trail" Colour Scheme
On May 22, 2025, MINI launched the limited edition "Green Trail" colour scheme for the MINI COOPER Electric, with two configurations priced at 167,800 and 197,800 yuan respectively, limited to 52 units nationwide. The new model retains the MINI family design style, featuring iconic round headlights, an octagonal grille, and matrix LED taillights. The roof is available in a limited edition "Floating White" colour, paired with a green body for a youthful and stylish look. The interior features the MINI OS 9 operating system, supporting eight "experience modes" and a smart personal assistant. Powertrain options include a 135 kW (184 hp) motor for the base model and a 160 kW (218 hp) motor for the higher-spec model. The entire range is equipped with a 51.5 kWh battery pack, offering CLTC ranges of 452 km and 456 km depending on the configuration.
Fiat Panda 4x4 Concept Unveiled, Paying Tribute to the Classic with 4x4 Drivetrain
Fiat has unveiled the Panda 4x4 concept, featuring numerous off-road elements in its design as a tribute to the 1983 Panda 4x4. Based on the standard model, the concept includes external LED spotlights, silver skid plates, wide black fender flares, vintage-style steel wheels, all-terrain tires, and a roof rack with additional LED lights. The vehicle's ground clearance has been increased, and the rear features a five-point LED taillight layout and a dual-stage rear bumper design. While the exact powertrain details have not been disclosed, the concept will feature a rear-mounted electric motor for a 4x4 drivetrain setup.
2025 BMW i4 eDrive35 M Sport Launched in Malaysia
The 2025 BMW i4 eDrive35 M Sport has been launched in Malaysia at RM294,800, or RM315,600 with a five-year warranty and six-year service package. This is significantly higher than its closest competitors, the RM181k-244k Tesla Model 3 and the RM164k-200k BYD Seal. However, the i4 eDrive35 M Sport comes with updated features such as a redesigned kidney grille, M high-gloss Shadowline trim, and 19-inch wheels. It also features adaptive LED headlights with BMW Selective Beam technology and laser tail lamps. The interior includes a new D-shaped sports steering wheel, black M PerformTex upholstery, and the BMW Curved Display (12.3-inch digital instrument cluster + 14.9-inch central touchscreen). The i4 eDrive35 M Sport is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor with 286 PS and 400 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in six seconds. The 70.3 kWh battery (67.1 kWh usable) offers a WLTP range of 500 km, with DC fast charging from 10-80% in 32 minutes and a full charge in seven hours using an 11-kW AC charger.

Malaysian Sapura Industrial and China’s ZZ Tech Form JV to Manufacture EV Battery Components
Malaysian automotive component maker Sapura Industrial Berhad (SIB) has announced a joint venture with China’s Zhejiang Zhongze Precision Technology Co Ltd (ZZ Tech) to produce EV battery components in Malaysia, specifically high-precision storage battery casings. This JV marks SIB’s diversification into the energy storage and battery ecosystem. The initial investment is RM18 million, and a new company will be formed, with 51% ownership by SIB Ventures and 49% by ZZ Tech. SIB Ventures will handle corporate, licensing, environmental, and regulatory matters and source a location for the plant. ZZ Tech will provide machinery, technical expertise, training, and customer support.

Lexus IS 500 Ultimate Edition Teaser Unveiled with 5.0L V8 Engine
Lexus has released teaser images of the IS 500 Ultimate Edition, designed exclusively for the North American market. The exterior features a unique metallic gray paint and 19-inch matte black BBS forged wheels, with Brembo six-piston brakes on the front wheels. The interior will have a track red and black color scheme, red seatbelts, and limited-edition plaques. Powering the vehicle is a 5.0L naturally aspirated V8 engine with a maximum output of 479 horsepower and 536 Nm of torque.

Nissan Launches All-Electric Sixth-Generation Micra; Set for European Release in Late 2025
Nissan has unveiled the all-electric sixth-generation Micra, set to go on sale in Europe in late 2025. As one of four new EVs Nissan plans to launch in Europe by 2027, the Micra is built on the CMF-B EV (AmpR Small) platform shared with the Renault 5 E-Tech. It offers two powertrain options: a base 40-kWh battery with 122 PS (121 hp) and 225 Nm of torque, and a higher-spec 52-kWh battery with 150 PS (148 hp) and 245 Nm. The WLTP range is up to 310 km for the 40-kWh variant and 408 km for the 52-kWh variant. The Micra supports DC fast charging at up to 100 kW (52-kWh battery) or 80 kW (40-kWh battery), with a 15-80% charge time of 30 minutes. Inside, the Micra features a driver-focused dashboard with a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster and touchscreen, NissanConnect infotainment with Google integration, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. The exterior offers 14 color combinations and draws inspiration from the Concept 20-23, with distinctive front and rear ends.
