Toyota has released the first interior images of its upcoming SUV, expected to be the sixth-generation RAV4, ahead of its official launch on May 21. The new RAV4 features a more angular and rugged design, borrowing elements from the Land Cruiser Prado/250, such as a chunky-spoked steering wheel and hexagonal air vents. The in-car tech includes larger freestanding displays and a Qi wireless charger. Externally, the car will feature Toyota’s “Hammerhead” front end, C-shaped headlights, and a honeycomb grille. Based on an uprated TNGA-K platform, the new RAV4 is expected to share powertrains with the latest Camry, including a 2.5L hybrid and a 2.5L Dynamic Force petrol engine. It may also offer an upgraded plug-in hybrid with a 130 km electric range and a fully-electric variant for the first time since 2014.
