After 20 Days of Pre-Sales, IM L6's Core Technology Provider HYVIA Reveals Details of "Morpheus Instant Light" Technology
On May 8, the 20th day of IM L6’s pre-sales, its core technology provider, HYVIA, publicly revealed the technical details of the “Morpheus Instant Light” liquid crystal dimming film for the first time. In 2022, due to frequent high-temperature weather, the sun protection and heat insulation issues of panoramic sunroofs sparked complaints from car owners, leading BYD to promise free sunshades for its entire series of vehicles. Despite this, the market penetration rate of panoramic sunroofs continues to rise, expected to exceed 21% by 2025. To address sun protection and heat insulation, the industry has tried various technologies, but these have been limited by the lack of unified standards and high costs. The standard configuration of dimming sunroofs in the IM L6 marks the shift of this technology from an optional feature to a standard one. HYVIA’s President and CTO, Li Min, predicts that liquid crystal dimming sunroofs will become a standard feature in cars in the future, replacing the current configuration of “large sunroofs” + “sunshades.”
