Dongfeng Sokon Automobile (DFSK) showcased the Seres 7 at the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), in addition to the Seres 9. Positioned as a mid-to-large SUV, the Seres 7 offers configurations for up to six seats and is sized between the BMW X5 and X7. As a range-extender electric vehicle, the Seres 7 comes in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions and runs on Huawei's HarmonyOS operating system, though Huawei's branding has been removed from the vehicle. The car supports fast charging and is expected to launch in the market soon.

Lincoln to Slot New Hybrid Three-Row SUV Between Aviator and Navigator
Lincoln confirmed at a dealer meeting that a new three-row SUV will arrive before 2030, powered by an all-new hybrid system (possibly range-extended) and positioned between the Aviator and Navigator. The model may revive the "Continental" nameplate to plug the price gap in Lincoln's lineup. Nissan staged a Ginza demo of its next-gen ProPILOT aboard an Aria prototype on 22 Sept. The SAE L2 system pairs Wayve’s embodied-AI “AI Driver” with a roof-mounted next-gen LiDAR, 11 cameras and 5 radars, delivering human-like urban driving and extended high-speed/night range. The technology is scheduled for Japanese production models in FY2027, with drivers required to remain engaged.

WEY G9 Luxury PHEV MPV to Launch in Malaysia Q4, Priced Below RM300k to Rival Alphard
GWM Malaysia will launch the seven-seat plug-in hybrid WEY G9 in Q4, priced under RM300k. Measuring 5,045×1,960×1,900mm with a 3,085mm wheelbase, the MPV uses Hi4 AWD delivering 325kW/642Nm and offers 170km electric range (NEDC) from a 44.2kWh battery. Features include zero-gravity Nappa second-row seats, 17.3″ rear screen and 81.96% high-strength steel safety cage, targeting Toyota Alphard and Zeekr 009.
