On Sept 2, Ford unveiled BlueOval Charge Network x Octopus Electroverse, launching in October for private and fleet customers across Europe. One app and one card grant access to more than one million public chargers across 1,200 networks, featuring transparent pricing and intelligent route planning via CarPlay/Android Auto. Private users receive a three-month IONITY Premium trial; business users get three months free access to the Octopus Fleet portal for driver-card allocation, network discounts and custom reporting, simplifying EV and fleet management.

TMT Motors has announced the launch of the second electric vehicle model, Wuling Bingo, from the SGMW joint venture, with four versions and the initial market release of two versions offering 333 km and 410 km ranges. Developed by SGMW, Wuling Bingo is a Class A hatchback equipped with LFP batteries, supporting home charging and fast DC charging. The vehicle features a front-wheel-drive electric motor with a top speed of 100 km/h and 130 km/h, available in various colors and smart safety features.

Volvo confirms its new mid-size electric SUV EX60 will debut on January 26 2026. Built on the SPA3 EV platform and positioned between EX40 and EX90, it targets over 700 km WLTP range. The model features Thor’s Hammer lighting, vertical split taillights and Superset tech stack, set to sell alongside the XC60.

BMW will unveil the second-gen iX3 on Sept 5 at Munich IAA, ushering in the Neue Klasse era. Built on 800 V architecture, it supports 400 kW DC charging for 350 km in 10 min and delivers up to 800 km WLTP range thanks to new cylindrical cell-to-pack batteries. The Gen6 eDrive combines an electrically-excited synchronous rear motor with a compact asynchronous front unit, cutting consumption to 15.1 kWh/100 km, weight by 10% and cost by 20%. Four “Superbrains” manage drive, ADAS, infotainment and vehicle functions; inside, a panoramic cross-car display and rhombic mini-LED touchscreen define the next-gen cockpit.

Mazda Malaysia has officially launched the CX-60, offered in a single 2.5 2WD variant priced at RM200,510.40 (peninsula, excluding insurance). Built on Mazda’s new rear-wheel-drive platform, the 4,740mm-long SUV slots above the CX-5 and is powered by a 189HP/261Nm 2.5L SkyActiv-G petrol mated to an 8AT. Standard kit includes 20-inch alloys, full-LED lighting, panoramic sunroof, twin 12.3-inch displays, Bose audio, Qi wireless charging, full L2 ADAS and seven airbags. A 5-year/100,000km warranty and free maintenance package are included.

Mazda Malaysia launched the CX-80 flagship SUV today, offered solely as the 2.5G PHEV AWD High Plus priced at RM331,610.40 including tint and a 5-year/100,000 km warranty. Imported from Japan, the 4,995 mm-long six-seater pairs a 2.5 L SkyActiv-G engine with an electric motor for 323 HP and 500 Nm, driving all four wheels through an 8AT. It sprints to 195 km/h and returns 1.6 L/100 km while covering 65 km on pure-electric power. Highlights include 20-inch alloys, twin 12.3-inch displays, panoramic roof, Nappa ventilated/heated captain chairs, full L2 ADAS and an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty.
