Xpeng G6 Facelift Launched in Thailand with New Performance AWD Variant

The Xpeng G6 has been launched in Thailand with a facelift and a new Performance AWD variant. The lineup now includes the Long Range model, priced at 1.349 million baht (about RM175k), and the Performance AWD, priced at 1.489 million baht (RM193k). Both models feature an 80.8-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that supports fast charging via a 451 kW DC input, achieving a 10-80% state of charge (SoC) in just 12 minutes. The Long Range model has a rear electric motor with 296 PS (292 hp or 218 kW) and 440 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 202 km/h. The Performance AWD adds a front electric motor for a total output of 487 PS (480 hp or 358 kW) and 660 Nm, reducing the 0-100 km/h time to 4.13 seconds while maintaining the same top speed. The facelift includes a new Xpeng logo placement, 20-inch alloys, a ducktail spoiler, and blackened elements. The interior features a darker color scheme, revised dashboard and front panels, 10-way adjustable front seats with massage function, suede headliner, digital rear-view mirror, and manually adjustable air vents. The digital instrument cluster has increased to 10.25 inches, and the central infotainment touchscreen to 15.6 inches. The ADAS system includes a Nvidia Orin-X chip with five millimetre-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and 13 cameras, enabling various advanced driving assistance functions.

The new BYD Seal 07 DM-i has been unveiled, featuring an optimized front face with a closed design and enlarged front bumper air intake. Sixth-Generation Jeep Cherokee Debuts for 2026
The sixth-generation Jeep Cherokee has been unveiled, built on Stellantis' STLA Large architecture with a transverse front-mounted engine layout. Measuring 4,778 mm long, 1,898 mm wide, and 1,715 mm tall with a 2,869 mm wheelbase, the new Cherokee weighs 1,948 kg and has a towing capacity of 3,500 kg. It features a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 177 hp and 300 Nm of torque, combined with two electric motors and a 1.03 kWh battery for a combined output of 210 hp and 312 Nm, driving all four wheels via an e-CVT. The Cherokee comes with Jeep Active Drive I 4×4 system and four drive modes. Inside, it offers a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with UConnect 5, and various safety features. Starting at US$36,995 in the US, the 2026 Cherokee will be produced in Mexico with deliveries beginning late-2025.

The model delivers both BEV and EREV powertrains, integrates HarmonyOS cockpit and Huawei ADS 4, and achieves up to 1,360 km NEDC combined range.

Suzuki to Launch Two New Models in Malaysia
Malaysia's Suzuki car distributor Naza Eastern Motors has confirmed the introduction of two new models: the entry-level A-Segment SUV Suzuki Fronx and the all-electric SUV eVitara. The Fronx is expected to be launched within this year at a price above 100,000 Malaysian Ringgit and will be imported from abroad. The Fronx, a collaborative development between Suzuki and Toyota, is a twin model to the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor in the Indian market. In Indonesia, the Fronx is available in two power configurations: a 1.5L four-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine with a mild hybrid system and a standard gasoline version, both featuring MacPherson strut front suspension, torsion beam rear suspension, and disc/drum brakes. The eVitara, a B-Segment all-electric SUV, is expected to arrive in Malaysia next year with a maximum range of 500 kilometers. It features a dual-screen interior and is currently produced in India.

On 24 Jul, BYD launched the Sea Lion 06 mid-size SUV: DM-i at RMB 139.8–156.8 k, EV at RMB 143.8–163.8 k. DM-i offers 3.5 L/100 km WLTC and 1,670 km range via 5th-gen DM tech; EV delivers 520/605 km CLTC and 18-min 10–80 % charge on e-Platform 3.0 Evo. All trims feature DiPilot 100 ADAS, 100+ luxury items and TSC blow-out stability control.

Malaysia to Implement Targeted RON95 Gasoline Subsidy
Malaysia's Second Minister of Finance, Amir Khan, announced that a targeted RON95 gasoline subsidy will be implemented in the second half of 2025. The plan will use the Malaysian card (MyKad) system combined with a dual-pricing mechanism, with subsidized and market prices. The subsidy will be distributed via the MyKad system, allowing eligible individuals to enjoy discounted prices at gas stations. Currently, the MyKad system is used to distribute the SARA basic assistance fund to 5.4 million people. The government is still finalizing the details of the subsidy implementation.
