General Motors (GM) and Hyundai have announced a collaboration to develop five new models, including compact sedans, SUVs, electric vans, and pick-ups. The compact sedans, SUVs, and pick-ups are set to be launched in the South American market in 2028, with both gasoline and hybrid options, while the electric van is planned for the North American market. GM will lead the development of the mid-size pick-up platform, and Hyundai will take charge of the compact sedan and electric van. Despite sharing platforms, each brand will maintain its own design for interiors and exteriors. The combined annual sales volume of these models is expected to exceed 800,000 units. The partnership also extends to raw material procurement, transportation, and logistics in the American market.
