Changan Mazda's first new energy mid-size SUV, the EZ-60, rolled off the assembly line at its Nanjing plant and will be launched at the end of September. Dimensions are 4850/1935/1620 mm, with a 2902 mm wheelbase. Built on the Changan EPA platform, it offers both extended-range (1.5L range extender + 190 kW motor) and pure electric dual-power options. The 2902 mm wheelbase also features a queen-size passenger seat and L2 Intelligent Driving.

Third-Generation Mercedes-Benz CLA Confirmed to Launch in Malaysia as Pure Electric Model
The third-generation Mercedes-Benz CLA (codenamed C178) has appeared on Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s official website and is now open for registration of interest. This CLA will debut in Malaysia as a pure electric model for the first time, built on the brand’s latest MMA (Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture) platform and supporting an 800V electrical architecture with up to 320kW DC fast charging. The electric versions include the CLA 250+ with a rear-mounted single motor and the CLA 350 4Matic with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, offering combined outputs of 272 hp and 354 hp respectively, equipped with an 85kWh NMC battery, with ranges of 792 km and 672 km. The new model also features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch infotainment screen, and the MB.OS system, which is powered by ChatGPT and Microsoft Bing. The final specifications and pricing for Malaysia have yet to be announced.

Hyundai Ioniq 2 Compact EV Set to Launch, Targeting Entry-Level Market
According to Autocar UK, Hyundai is developing a compact electric vehicle called the Ioniq 2, set to debut at next month’s IAA Mobility show in Munich as the twin to the Kia EV2. The Ioniq 2 will fill the gap in Hyundai’s European EV line-up between the Ioniq 5 and Kona Electric, competing against the Renault 4, Volkswagen ID.2X, and Skoda Epiq. The vehicle is expected to launch in Q3 2026, built on the E-GMP platform with battery packs of either 58.3 kWh or 81.4 kWh and front-wheel drive. Spyshots indicate it will be a raised hatchback with a raked roof and LED lights similar to the Ioniq 6, priced around £25,000.
