Peugeot is set to revive the GTi badge with the e-208 GTi ahead of the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans race. This will be the first GTi model since the 308 GTi in 2017 and will compete with the Alpine A290, based on the Renault 5 EV. Peugeot CEO Alain Favey emphasized the brand’s commitment to driving sensations. The e-208 GTi will feature a 156 PS electric motor and a 51 kWh battery, offering up to 400 km of range (WLTP). Future GTi variants will depend on customer feedback.

2026 Voyah Zhiyin Debuts July 23: First with Huawei ADS 4 & HarmonySpace 5, Sales Start Late August
On July 23, Lantu released the mid-term facelift medium-sized pure electric SUV Zhiyin. The new car has a length, width and height of 4810/1900/1636 mm and a wheelbase of 2925 mm. The front face has a 46.75-inch "Flashing Galaxy Smart Light Curtain" + 192-line laser radar, and supports 8 types of lighting effects OTA expansion. The interior is minimalist, and it debuts Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS 4 and Hongmeng Cockpit HarmonySpace 5, equipped with a 15.6-inch sliding screen, 8295P chip and car refrigerator. The power continues to use a 230 kW rear single motor, and the 79/109 kWh battery corresponds to a CLTC range of 650/901 km. The 800V platform + 5C fast charging 15 minutes to replenish 515 km. The new car is expected to be priced in the 197,000-237,000 yuan range and will be launched at the end of August.
Chery Unveils Super Hybrid System (CHS); Tiggo 7 & Tiggo 8 PHEV CSH Set for Malaysia Launch
Chery Malaysia has unveiled its self-developed CHS Super Hybrid System, featuring a 1.5T Miller Cycle engine (143 hp/215 Nm) paired with a 204 hp/310 Nm electric motor. The combined output is 347 hp and 525 Nm, with a thermal efficiency of 44.5% and mechanical efficiency of 98.5%. The system includes an 18.3 kWh LFP battery with 90 km EV range and 1 200 km total range, IP68-rated, and supports 40 kW DC fast charging (19 min for 30%-80%) and 6.6 kW AC charging (3 hours full). The Tiggo 7/8 PHEV CSH models, set for launch, match previous show versions, though local release timing and CKD status remain unconfirmed.
Wuling Zhi Guang EV 305 km Jinqu Launches July 23 with Extended Range & Added Features
Wuling Hong Guang revealed the Zhi Guang EV 305 km Jinqu will launch on July 23, extending CLTC range from 201 km to 305 km. Dimensions remain 3685/1530/1765 mm with 2600 mm wheelbase. Upgrades include LED headlights, reversing camera, dual front airbags, 7-inch digital cluster and six-way driver seat adjustment, while rear and passenger seats fold flat for flexible cargo space.

BMW M Boss: Inline-Six and V8 Will Survive Euro 7 Without Performance Loss
BMW M CEO Frank Van Meel told Autocar that the brand’s inline-six and V8 engines will remain in production under the stricter Euro 7 rules without any loss in output. While emission limits stay the same as Euro 6e, the test cycle is wider and durability doubled to 10 years/200,000 km. M engineers have refined combustion and cooling to maintain λ=1 without fuel-based cooling; details will follow. Van Meel ruled out three- or four-cylinder hybrids, insisting six- and eight-cylinder engines are central to M’s character.

SAIC-GM-Wuling 2026 Xingchi Launched, Limited-Time Price as Low as 37,800 Yuan
SAIC-GM-Wuling has launched the 2026 Xingchi SUV with two configurations. The 1.5L 6MT Freedom model is priced at 52,800 yuan, with a subsidized price of 37,800 yuan. The 1.5L CVT Fun model is priced at 66,800 yuan, with a subsidized price of 51,800 yuan. The new model retains the “Wing Dynamics Aesthetics” design, adds the Iceberry Purple color, and features an 8-inch touchscreen, electrically adjustable mirrors, and other configurations. It is powered by a 1.5L engine with a choice of 6MT or CVT transmission.

New Tank 500 Debuts July 25 with LiDAR & Coffee Pilot Ultra
The facelifted Tank 500 debuts on July 25. Exterior tweaks include a stacked-chrome hexagonal grille; an optional Hesai ATX LiDAR enables Coffee Pilot Ultra AD. A “GWM” badge adorns the tailgate. Both Hi4-T and Hi4-Z PHEV retain the 2.0T+electric drivetrain rated at 185 kW, delivering 110–201 km WLTC electric range.
