LanTu has released the interior teaser for the new LanTu FREE+, which was unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show. Positioned as a mid-large SUV, it measures 4915/1960/1660mm with a wheelbase of 2960mm. The interior features a "starry river flowing into the cabin" design, with a rectangular LCD instrument cluster, three-spoke steering wheel, and large infotainment screen, abandoning the triple-screen layout. It adopts a wrap-around dashboard and soft ambient lighting. The vehicle is equipped with Huawei's ADAS 4 and Harmony Space 5 system, dual wireless charging panels, rear display screens, and a single right-side table. The exterior features pulling-through LED lights and a pulling-through ventilation opening. Powered by a 1.5T range extender with a maximum power of 95 kW and a drive motor with a maximum power of 215 kW, it also includes EDC air suspension with five driving modes.

BMW Malaysia to Launch Two New Models: New X3 and 2 Series Gran Coupe
BMW Malaysia is set to launch two new models this week: the fourth-generation BMW X3 (G45) and the new 2 Series Gran Coupe (F74). The new X3 features the latest family design with dimensions of 4755×1920×1660mm and a wheelbase of 2865mm, larger than its predecessor, and has dropped the “i” suffix for gasoline models. The 2 Series Gran Coupe, built on an upgraded chassis, has dimensions of 4546×1800×1445mm and a wheelbase of 2670mm. It retains many design elements from the previous generation but has a simplified interior with fewer physical buttons. The new 2 Series Gran Coupe is expected to continue with the 1.5T three-cylinder engine and will be renamed 218 Gran Coupe to avoid confusion with the i-series.

Chery DuoMi is set to launch on June 10, positioned as a mini electric vehicle with a 5-door, 5-seat layout. It offers two CLTC range options: 305km and 405km. The car features a compact design with triangular headlights and hook-shaped LED lights. Measuring 3720/1700/1608mm in size with a 2520mm wheelbase, it also has a matching rear design. The interior boasts a floating dual-screen layout with voice interaction and an electronic handbrake. The motor delivers a maximum power of 40kW and a maximum torque of 110Nm, with a fast charging time from 30% to 80% being short.

Dongfeng to Introduce Nanmi 06 SUV and Yipai eπ007 in Malaysia
Dongfeng Cars Malaysia is set to introduce two new models: the Nanmi 06 SUV and the Yipai eπ007. The Nanmi 06 is a compact electric SUV with dimensions of 4306×1868×1645mm and a wheelbase of 2715mm. It features a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 184 hp and peak torque of 290 Nm. The SUV offers two battery capacities—44.94kWh and 51.87kWh—with CLTC ranges of 401km and 471km, respectively. The interior includes a 12.8-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital instrument panel, and wireless charging. The Yipai eπ007 is a four-door coupe available in both BEV and REEV versions, with dimensions of 4880×1895×1460mm and a wheelbase of 2915mm. It has a low drag coefficient of 0.209. The BEV version offers three power options with maximum powers of 218 hp, 272 hp, and 544 hp (dual-motor), and CLTC ranges of 530km, 620km, and 540km (dual-motor). The REEV version features a 1.5L engine and a 218 hp electric motor with a combined range of 1200km. The interior is equipped with a 15.6-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch instrument panel, a panoramic sunroof, and a 20-speaker sound system.

Hyundai Reorganizes Business in Malaysia and Launches EV Production Plan
Hyundai Motor Group announced in 2024 that it will reorganize its business in Malaysia by taking back the operating rights from Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) and entering the Malaysian market directly through its subsidiary Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) . In addition, Hyundai plans to invest RM2.16 billion to upgrade the Inokom automotive assembly plant and establish new strategic partnerships . The plan includes assembling high-voltage battery components for electric vehicles in Malaysia and gradually introducing six models for local assembly (CKD) over the next six years. Hyundai also plans to start assembling the large MPV Staria in Malaysia by mid-2025 and position Malaysia as a main production base for Southeast Asia, with an initial annual output of 20,000 vehicles .
