Lotus Technology plans to acquire a 51% stake in Lotus UK, which is held by Geely, to integrate all Lotus brand operations. This acquisition is part of the business combination between Lotus Technology and L Catterton Asia Acquisition Corp, aimed at strengthening the brand's global competitiveness. Lotus UK is primarily responsible for the manufacturing of Lotus sports cars and supercars. Upon completion of the acquisition, Lotus Technology will gain control of Lotus UK and consolidate its financial performance.

Owned 70% by PIF and 30% by Hyundai, the plant is Hyundai's first in the Middle East, targeting an annual production of 50,000 vehicles, including ICE and EVs, with the first vehicle set to roll out by Q4 2026. The facility will create thousands of jobs, localize vehicle production, and boost Saudi Arabia's automotive ecosystem.
