EP Manufacturing Berhad to Assemble BAIC's X55 and BJ40 Plus SUVs from Next Year

Malaysian company EP Manufacturing Berhad (EPMB) has announced that it will start assembling BAIC's X55 and BJ40 Plus SUVs at its Pegoh, Melaka factory from the first quarter of 2025. The two SUVs, which have not yet been officially launched in Malaysia, are expected to be assembled locally rather than imported from China. The X55 is a C-Segment five-seater SUV with a 1.5L turbocharged engine, while the BJ40 Plus is an off-road focused SUV equipped with a 2.0L turbocharged engine and a four-wheel-drive system.
