Toyota Harrier 2027 Redesign Preview: New Design and Powertrain
The fifth-generation Toyota Harrier is expected to launch in 2027. It will feature a new design similar to the new RAV4, with a lower center of gravity and more sporty styling. The vehicle's dimensions are predicted to be 4,750×1,860×1,550 mm with a wheelbase of 2,770 mm. It will be equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine and hybrid system, offering improved performance and emissions. The TNGA-K platform will continue to be used.

The MPV offers a 7-seat layout in three rows, targeting the home market. It features a tech-savvy exterior with sliding doors, low-drag wheels, and "Y"-shaped taillights. The interior focuses on equal space for all rows, with a stylish multifunctional steering wheel and leatherette seats. The vehicle is powered by a Lingxi plug-in hybrid system, combining a 1.5T engine and an electric motor, with a CLTC electric range of 140km.

Thailand to Launch ‘National EV Brand’ with Chery as Technical Partner
Thailand is set to launch a ‘National EV Brand’ backed by the Ministry of Commerce, with Chery providing the technology. Other partners include NSTDA and King Gen. The joint venture plans to launch three fully electric models by the end of 2025, including a pick-up truck, an MPV, and an SUV, with over 50% local content. The Thai government will offer tax incentives for the project. This follows a previous failed attempt with Foxconn and is more credible due to direct government backing and Chery's involvement. Indonesia is also pursuing a similar initiative with Geely.

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Middle East Breaks Ground in Saudi Arabia
Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Middle East (HMMME) hosted a groundbreaking ceremony at the King Salman Automotive Cluster within King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) in Saudi Arabia. This marks a significant step in developing the Kingdom's automotive industry. Owned 70% by PIF and 30% by Hyundai, the plant is Hyundai's first in the Middle East, targeting an annual production of 50,000 vehicles, including ICE and EVs, with the first vehicle set to roll out by Q4 2026. The facility will create thousands of jobs, localize vehicle production, and boost Saudi Arabia's automotive ecosystem.
