Chery Auto is demonstrating its 'China Speed' at the ongoing 2024 Chery International Business Conference, showcasing a new model and announcing a facelift for the same model for next year. As China's top car exporter and one of the most international carmakers, Chery is looking to expand into new segments, including MPVs and pickup trucks. According to Zhang Guibing, EVP of Chery International, the company is developing a seven-seat MPV, a seven-seat SUV, and a pickup truck, all part of the new 'M-series' set to debut by 2026. These vehicles will be designed to accommodate ICE, PHEV, and EV powertrains, offering Chery high flexibility. The M-series models are expected to be well-suited for the ASEAN market, where three-row people carriers are popular in Indonesia, and pickup trucks are a staple in Thailand. Additionally, Chery is planning new members for the Tiggo SUV family, with a Tiggo 3 and Tiggo 5 in the works, potentially indicating a renumbering and upgrade of the current Tiggo 2 and Tiggo 4 models.
