Toyota Australia recorded 20,225 sales in June, bringing its half-year total to 120,978 deliveries. The company leads the market in passenger cars, SUVs, and light commercials with a 19.4% total market share. Models like Corolla, Camry, RAV4, and Land Cruiser continue to dominate their segments. Toyota’s Vice President Sean Hanley highlighted the strong forward order book and the company’s commitment to a multi-pathway approach to decarbonisation, including the introduction of its first plug-in hybrid in the new RAV4 next year.

Daihatsu Registers Design for Seventh-Generation Move Kei Car in Indonesia, Possible Debut at 2025 Auto Show
PT ADM (Astra Daihatsu Motor) has registered the design for the seventh-generation Daihatsu Move kei car, which has not yet been marketed in Indonesia. This kei car, with an engine capacity under 1,000 cc, is popular in Japan for urban use. Although it is not confirmed for release, the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025 could be the platform for its debut. The vehicle features a 658 cc turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 63 hp and peak torque of 100 Nm, available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. It is equipped with a 9-10 inch infotainment screen and 17 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) functions.

BMW Thailand Launches Second-Generation 2 Series Gran Coupe with Upgraded Specs
BMW Thailand has launched the second-generation 2 Series Gran Coupe (2GC) with a 2.0L four-cylinder turbo engine producing 204 hp and 300 Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Thai version accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h. This is a significant upgrade from the 1.5L three-cylinder engine in Malaysia’s 218 model, which is slower and less powerful. The Thai 2GC also features an M Sport Pro trim with 19-inch Y-spoke M alloys, M-coloured stitching, extended gloss black exterior treatment, a bootlid spoiler, and BMW’s Iconic Glow illumination for the kidney grille. Additional features include Harman Kardon audio and a panoramic glass roof. The Thai-market 220 M Sport Pro is priced at 2,199,000 baht (equivalent to RM285,335), while Malaysia’s 218 Sport is priced at RM218,800 with a two-year unlimited-mileage warranty.
