SAIC-GM has released the interior official images of the new Buick E5, which has undergone 47 improvements in design, performance, intelligent interaction, and comfort. The interior retains the current layout with upgraded details, including a 30-inch integrated 6K screen with V5.0 infotainment system and Gaode Maps, 27° reclining rear seats, and Bose audio system. The exterior features the PURE Design language with a closed grille and split headlights, and a Through taillight with a three-section high brake light. The vehicle measures 4892×1905×1684mm with a wheelbase of 2954mm. Powertrain-wise, it features the Ultium 2.0 platform with a single electric motor delivering a maximum power of 180kW (245 hp).

Proton Saga Cross: A New Sub-Brand and SUV Concept by Theophilus Chin
Rumors suggest that Proton is planning a new Saga sub-brand, and designer Theophilus Chin has created a "hypothetical" Proton Saga Cross SUV to compete with models like the Perodua Ativa, Honda WR-V, and Chery Tiggo Cross. Theo envisions a lineup including the Saga Persona (sedan), Saga Iriz (hatchback), Saga Exora (MPV), and Saga Cross (SUV). The design features angular headlamps integrated into a wide grille, black wheel arch mouldings, roof rails, an X70-like shoulder line kink at the C-pillar, full-width tail lamps, and a rear diffuser-like element housing twin tailpipes. Proton is currently awaiting the launch of the Saga MC3, codenamed AMA01, which is the first model based on the new A-segment Modular Architecture. Toyota Vios Hybrid to Debut in Thailand on August 21
Toyota Thailand has confirmed that the fourth-generation Vios will be available in a hybrid variant, set to compete with the Honda City e:HEV. The Vios hybrid, known as Yaris Ativ HEV in Thailand, is scheduled for an official launch on August 21. It will feature the same 1.5L four-cylinder engine and electric motor combination as the Yaris Cross HEV, producing a combined output of 111 horsepower, equipped with an e-CVT transmission and front-wheel drive, achieving a fuel consumption rate of 26.3 km/l. The vehicle will be offered in two variants: HEV Premium and HEV GR Sport. Pricing details have yet to be officially announced, but it is expected to be priced higher than the conventional gasoline-powered Vios.

Proton's EV Plant in Tanjong Malim on Track to Begin Production in September
Proton's upcoming electric vehicle (EV) plant in Tanjong Malim, Malaysia, is progressing well and is on track to begin production in September 2025. The facility is currently 90.4% complete in terms of building construction, with equipment installation at 83.5%, resulting in an overall progress of 86.9%. The plant will produce multiple models based on the Global Modular Architecture (GMA) platform, with the eMas 7 set to roll off the line in mid-September, followed by the yet-to-be-launched eMas 5. Designed with scalability in mind, the plant will initially have an annual capacity of 20,000 units, ramping up to 45,000 units over time based on local and overseas demand. The new facility will feature specialized areas for battery assembly, high-voltage safety, and electrical testing, tailored for EV production. Proton is working with long-term partner Geely, which has provided technical guidance, assisted with equipment selection, and deployed experts for installation and trial runs, ensuring the plant meets global EV manufacturing standards.
