The GAC Aion V has made its debut in Malaysia following its launch in Thailand last year. This second-generation electric crossover measures 4,605mm long, 1,876mm wide, and 1,686mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,775mm. Compared to the BYD Atto 3, the Aion V is 150mm longer, 1mm wider, 71mm taller, and has a 55mm longer wheelbase. It features a single-motor drivetrain with 150kW (204PS) and 240Nm of torque, achieving 0-100km/h in 7.9 seconds with a top speed of 160km/h. The vehicle is powered by a 75.2kWh LFP battery, offering up to 602km on the NEDC cycle, likely closer to 500km on WLTP. It supports up to 180kW DC fast charging, enabling a 30-80% recharge in 16 minutes or an additional 330km in 15 minutes. AC charging is limited to 7kW, but it offers 3.3kW V2L capability. Equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera system, and a powered tailgate. Inside, there’s a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, an 8.9-inch instrument display, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation, massage, and memory functions, a large panoramic glass roof, and a 6.6-liter fridge under the front armrest. Safety features include six airbags and various driving assistance systems. The Aion V is expected to launch officially in Malaysia in Q3 2025.
