FAW-Volkswagen has unveiled the ID.AURA T6 Dragon Boat Special Edition at the GBA Auto Show, a pure-electric midsize SUV built on the CEA architecture with a 5-seat layout, roof-mounted LiDAR, and Corewise intelligent driving assistance. The special edition features Lingnan kapok-inspired red paint with golden auspicious cloud and dragon scale motifs. The company also introduced its Golden Hybrid technology, pairing an EA211 dedicated hybrid engine with a TQ251 transmission to achieve 3L/100km fuel consumption and over 1,400km combined range. The system includes Xingyun intelligent driving with end-to-end highway NOA and cross-floor memory parking. The Magotan PHEV and Tayron L PHEV are scheduled for launch at the end of June.

Audi has opened pre-sales for the E7X, offering five variants priced from RMB 289,800 to RMB 379,800 in the competitive 300,000-yuan pure-electric SUV segment. Built on a 900V high-voltage architecture with German chassis engineering and a "smart living room" cockpit, the E7X carries over design elements from the E5 Sportback. Its signature "ring light surface" features enlarged light rings paired with a broad front fascia for a commanding presence, while the diamond light curtain pays homage to Audi's iconic single-frame grille. Available in six colours, the E7X targets rivals including NIO, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, positioning itself as a technology-driven flagship in the premium EV market.

The Maextro S800 Grand Design special edition will make its debut at the Greater Bay Area Auto Show on May 29. Retaining the base model's design language, it features a new dual-tone "distant mountain cyan" and white paint scheme, complemented by gold-accented branding on the bonnet, fenders, C-pillars, wheels, and badging. The vehicle is equipped with an 896-line dual-optical-path image-grade LiDAR and additional B-pillar cameras, expected to support Huawei's latest ADS 5 intelligent driving system. Measuring 5,480 mm by 2,000 mm by 1,536/1,542 mm with a 3,370 mm wheelbase, the S800 Grand Design is positioned as a full-size luxury sedan.

Geely has released official images of the updated Cowboy compact SUV, scheduled for launch on May 30. The facelift retains the outgoing model's off-road styling package, measuring 4,442 mm by 1,860 mm by 1,770 mm with a 2,640 mm wheelbase. The roof rack offers 1.3 m² of cargo area with a 50 kg load capacity, while the rear-mounted waterproof storage pod and optional all-terrain tyres reinforce its rugged character. The cabin features a 14.6-inch central display with Flyme Auto infotainment, infinity-symbol air vents, and 256-colour ambient lighting. The current model is priced from RMB 93,900 to RMB 99,900.

Ford Malaysia has teased the new Everest Platinum flagship variant, set to debut at The Arch Galeries, KL from June 5-7. Positioned above the Wildtrak, the Platinum trim is expected to feature matrix LED headlamps, quilted leather upholstery, heated/ventilated front seats, Bang & Olufsen audio, and matte wood trim. A full ADAS suite including AEB, ACC with stop-and-go, lane centring, and blind spot detection is anticipated. The SUV will likely retain the 2.0L twin-turbo diesel powertrain, with pricing expected to exceed the current Wildtrak's RM339k.

Historic Italian marque Itala, founded in 1904, has been revived by DR Automobiles Group after a 92-year hiatus. The Itala 35, its first comeback model, is a rebadged GAC GS3 Emzoom featuring redesigned front and rear fascias by Italdesign. It is powered by a 1.5L turbo inline-four producing 170PS/270Nm, paired with a seven-speed DCT. Two additional models, the Itala 56 midsize SUV and Itala 61 seven-seater, are also planned for market launch.
