Hyundai Elexio Electric SUV Set to Launch in China with Over 700 km Range
Hyundai is set to launch the Elexio, a new C-segment electric SUV, in China this September. Built on the E-GMP platform and produced by BAIC in Beijing, the Elexio is tailored for the Chinese market with a distinctive design and a tech-heavy interior featuring a 27-inch touchscreen powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8295 chip. It supports features like AutoNavi maps, AI voice, karaoke, and Douyin video streaming. The Elexio delivers 218 PS and offers over 700 km of range (CLTC), with DC fast charging from 30–80% in 27 minutes. Positioned to rival the BYD Atto 3, it measures 4,615 mm in length and includes Level 2 autonomous driving tech.

Porsche Cayenne EV Set for Launch Next Year, Starting at $90,000
According to reports, the Porsche Cayenne EV is expected to launch next year with a starting price of $90,000. Built on the PPE platform, it features a fully electric powertrain and design elements similar to the Macan EV, including split headlights and a more rugged rear end. In June, a prototype dominated the Shelsley Walsh hill climb in the UK, setting a new record. Performance is anticipated to match or exceed that of the current plug-in hybrid variant.

MIIT Seeks Public Feedback on Four Mandatory National Standards Including Fuel Cell Vehicle Safety
On July 8, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced a public consultation on the revision of four mandatory national standards, including the "Safety Requirements for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles." The standards cover fuel cell vehicles, electric motorcycle chargers, tank vehicles for dangerous goods, and seat belts for three-wheeled motorcycles. The consultation period runs from July 9 to August 7.

Proton Saga 40th Anniversary Hot Wheels Model Launched, Priced at RM9.90
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Proton Saga, Proton has once again partnered with Mattel Malaysia to release a special edition 1:64 scale diecast model. This white version of the Saga features a blister card designed by nine-year-old Saw Jane Harn from Penang, winner of the 2023 Hot Wheels x Proton Kids Design Competition. The vibrant card showcases iconic Malaysian landmarks and symbols, including the Petronas Twin Towers, National Monument, wau, rhinoceros hornbill, tiger, and hibiscus. The special edition is now available at selected retailers nationwide for approximately RM9.90, the same price as the mainline version, though it has already become a target for scalpers online.
