Porsche Cayenne Electric is officially launched in Malaysia with SUV and Coupé variants. Built on PPE platform, it features dual-motor AWD, 113kWh battery pack, max 669km WLTP range and 390kW ultra-fast charging, marking the brand's third all-electric model.

China's mandatory national standard for autonomous driving safety requirements (GB 44721—2026) has been approved and will take effect on July 1, 2027. The standard applies to vehicles with L3 and L4 highly automated driving systems (Class M and N), excluding automatic parking systems. It requires automakers to establish lifecycle safety guarantees covering product design, manufacturing and post-deployment, ensuring the autonomous system achieves safety levels at least equivalent to a competent driver without posing unreasonable risks. The standard specifies dynamic driving task requirements across scenarios and minimum risk strategy triggers. Human-machine interaction must include clear activation/deactivation prompts, and L3 systems require driver takeover monitoring. Compared to the UN ADS GTR, China's standard provides more detailed technical requirements tailored to its road traffic environment.

Changan has announced that the Qinyuan Q06 will begin pre-sales on September 4. Positioned as a mid-size SUV on the SDA Tianxun architecture with a 2,940mm wheelbase, it features the Taihang distributed electric drivetrain. The exterior adopts a floating-light aesthetic with a closed grille, ring-style LED light bar and three-piece air intakes. The chassis uses a full-aluminum front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension. Interior highlights include a new three-spoke steering wheel, floating central screen, HUD, and ambient lighting, plus rear entertainment display, tray table, zero-gravity passenger seat and in-car refrigerator. All variants come standard with the Tianxun intelligent ADAS featuring lidar. The Q06 targets the mid-size NEV SUV market with both intelligent driving and refined chassis dynamics.

Geely has released new images of the Monjaro EM-i ahead of its full debut on August 29. Rather than an all-new model, it is the existing Monjaro/Xingyue L equipped with Geely's latest plug-in hybrid powertrain—E-Motive Intelligence (EM-i)—mirroring the setup in the Proton eMas 7 PHEV. The system combines a 1.5L BHE15 four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and an 11-in-1 dedicated hybrid transmission, delivering all-wheel drive. No output figures have been released, but with a claimed top speed of 200 km/h versus the eMas 7 PHEV's 170 km/h, it should surpass that model's 262PS and 262Nm combined output. The exterior mirrors the Xingyue L i-HEV with twin silver tusk air intakes, a vertically-slatted grille and 20-inch multi-spoke alloys from the Galaxy M7. The interior receives a full redesign incorporating the Galaxy M9 steering wheel, stitched surfaces and wood/metal-look trim, large dual displays, Qi wireless charging and physical climate toggles. The Monjaro EM-i launches first in Egypt before gradually reaching Europe, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. The model signals Geely's accelerated electrification of the Monjaro family while using PHEV technology to penetrate premium SUV markets in Eastern Europe, Northern Europe and Oceania.

Genesis unveiled at its Investor Day that the brand's first extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) SUV will launch in Q1 2027, marking a strategic pivot from an EV-only approach to a multi-powertrain lineup. Key technical highlights include Hyundai Motor Group's next-generation battery cells delivering double the output and 40 percent faster charging versus the prior high-nickel pack, Thermal Runaway Protection (TRP) structural architecture preventing thermal propagation, and a cloud-connected BMS monitoring cell voltage, thermal peaks and internal resistance in real time—targeting up to 20 percent battery life extension by 2028. Spy shots have emerged of the Lexus RX Morizo RR, a high-performance variant developed by Toyota GAZOO Racing. Featuring a bespoke sports kit and lowered stance, the prototype debuts in a copper "Crest" paint finish with a redesigned sport bumper preserving the RX's signature trapezoidal grille and adding brake cooling ducts. The fenders flare outward for a wide-body effect, riding on 21-inch multi-spoke alloys shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tires (265/40 ZR21 front, 295/35 ZR21 rear). Braking is upgraded to fixed calipers with drilled discs, while the rear bumper gains a twin-exit exhaust system replacing the standard model's hidden setup.
