Geely Riddara Thailand is evaluating plans for a local EV production facility following its October 2024 market entry with the RD6 electric pick-up. General manager Cao Feng expressed confidence in the long-term growth potential of BEV pick-ups despite current market slowdowns, citing superior energy efficiency over fossil fuel counterparts. The RD6 is priced between 899,000-1,299,000 baht, offering RWD and dual-motor 4WD variants with 63-86 kWh batteries, 815 mm wading depth and 1,030 kg payload capacity. Xiaomi has announced the Vision Gran Turismo concept car will debut at the Beijing Auto Show, developed in collaboration with the Gran Turismo racing game franchise following producer Kazunori Yamauchi's 2025 visit to Beijing and SU7 Ultra test drive. Designed without real-world regulatory or production constraints, the virtual racer embodies "sculpted by wind" philosophy featuring a suspended droplet cabin form with aerodynamically optimised surfaces and airfoil-structured components. Signature cross-shaped headlamps integrate airflow management while halo taillights function as rear ducting, achieving a 4.1 aerodynamic efficiency ratio, 0.29 drag coefficient and -1.2 downforce coefficient through semi-transparent magnetic wheel covers and active wake control systems.
