The report highlighted an 8.9% and 7.7% increase in value added by high-tech manufacturing and equipment manufacturing in 2024, with new energy vehicle production exceeding 13 million units. For 2025, the government will focus on developing intelligent and connected new energy vehicles, supporting large model applications, expanding 5G scale, accelerating industrial internet innovation, and optimizing the layout of computing power resources to build a globally competitive digital industry cluster.

FAW Invests RMB 3.74 B for 5 % Stake in Leapmotor, Joint Overseas Model to Hit 2026
On 28 Dec, Leapmotor signed a subscription agreement with FAW Equity Investment, issuing 74.8 mln domestic shares at RMB 50.03 each—an 11 % premium—to raise RMB 3.74 bln. Half fuels R&D, 25 % supports operations and 25 % expands sales network. FAW will hold 5 % equity; their first co-developed overseas model is scheduled for mass production and export in H2 2026.

NIO to Complete 2 700-km Yunnan–Tibet Battery-Swap Corridor on Jan 1, Total Stations Hit 3 654
NIO confirmed on 29 Dec that the Deqen Meili Snow Mountain swap station will go live on 1 Jan, completing a 2 700-km Yunnan–Tibet corridor with 19 stations. The network now totals 3 654 swap stations and 27 642 chargers, having performed 96 million swaps. In Nov 2025 the group delivered 36 275 vehicles, up 76.3 % YoY: 18 393 NIO, 11 794 Onvo and 6 088 Firefly.
