New Hongqi HQ9 PHEV Offers 173km/168km Electric Range, 39.5kWh Battery
The refreshed Hongqi HQ9 PHEV appears on China’s 25th tax-exempt list with a 39.5kWh pack delivering 173km or 168km electric range. A 120kW 2.0T petrol engine forms the plug-in hybrid, while design keeps the vertical-bar grille and full-width taillights on its 5222×2005×1935mm luxury MPV body.
Nissan to Export Electric Vehicles from China to Expand Overseas Markets
Nissan plans to export electric vehicles (EVs) from its Chinese factories to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other regions starting in 2026. The N7 mid-size sedan, the first EV developed in China, will be among the first to be exported. Nissan has invested in China's IAT Automobile Technology to develop software for export markets. Additionally, Nissan has established a joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group to handle vehicle exports. Nissan aims to leverage the cost-effectiveness of Chinese EVs to enhance its competitiveness in overseas markets.
BYD SHARK Pickup Arrives in Chile with DMO Technology to Redefine Pickup Standards
BYD has officially launched the SHARK pickup in the Chilean market. The SHARK is the first pickup to feature DMO (Dual Mode Off-road) technology, combining the performance and efficiency of traditional combustion vehicles with electric vehicles. Equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine and dual electric motors, the SHARK offers over 430 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 5.7 seconds. It features BYD's Blade Battery integrated via CTC (Cell-to-Chassis) technology, capable of charging from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes. The vehicle includes a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen, a 10.8-inch dashboard, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and is available in black, blue, and white. The SHARK also boasts a payload capacity of 850 kg and a towing capacity of 2,500 kg, along with six airbags and the DiPilot driving assistance system.

The Bugatti Tourbillon, successor to the Chiron, marks the brand's first foray into plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV). It features an 8.3L V16 engine and two electric motors, delivering a combined 1,800PS and a top speed of 445km/h (with the Speed Key option). The Tourbillon showcases intricate craftsmanship and advanced technology, with a limited production run of 250 units, starting at 3.8 million euros.

Seal 05 DM-i 210KM Premium/Flagship priced at ¥89.8k-99.8k; Seal 06 DM-i Super Enjoy 210KM Deluxe/Flagship at ¥116.8k-126.8k. Launch perks include 0-down/0-interest finance, trade-in subsidy, lifetime traction-battery warranty (first owner) and 6-yr/150k km vehicle warranty. Seal 05 DM-i also swaps to column shifter and a cleaner button strip inside.

Volvo EX60 Teased for Jan 21 Debut: SPA3 Architecture, 810 km CLTC Range, 340 km in 10-min Charge
Volvo will pull the wraps off the EX60 on 21 Jan. Sitting between the EX90 and EX30, the SUV debuts SPA3 with cell-to-body battery, 800 V architecture and 400 kW DC charging that adds 340 km in 10 min. In-house e-motors and a one-piece rear mega-casting help deliver a class-leading 810 km CLTC range; the battery carries a 10-year warranty. Volvo Car Malaysia has already teased peninsula-spanning drives, confirming a local launch later in 2026, while the ES90 sedan arrives this month.
