Chery, China's top car exporter, announced plans to establish an R&D center in Paris to develop a Europe-specific small city car tailored to local consumer preferences. The move marks Chery's strategic pivot from its SUV-focused European entry—via Omoda and Jaecoo brands—into the continent's iconic compact segment. "We want to build a French car for the French," stated Hanbang Yu, Chery France director, emphasizing the company's commitment to understanding regional design tastes. The initiative targets France's significant small car market, positioning Chery to compete against established European urban runabouts like the Fiat Cinquecento and Renault Twingo on their home terrain.

The 2026 Haval H9 has launched with three gasoline variants priced from RMB 199,900 to RMB 229,900, and limited-time offers from RMB 174,900. Two diesel variants are also available from RMB 233,900. The facelift upgrades smart connectivity, comfort, and off-road performance. Standard features include a full blackout exterior package, a 20 mm raised ride height, 226 mm ground clearance, 32-degree approach angle, and 800 mm wading depth. Headlight illumination has been improved by over 50% at 40 metres.

GAC AION has officially launched the N60 compact SUV, built on the AEP3.0 dedicated EV architecture. The model is offered in three variants priced from RMB 109,800 to RMB 129,800, with limited-time discounts available. Standard equipment includes LiDAR and 4D millimetre-wave radar across all trims, with range options of 410 km, 510 km, and 610 km. Launch incentives comprise financial subsidies, trade-in allowances, lifetime battery warranty for the first owner, and a four-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty.

Chery has released interior images of the ARRIZO X concept, following its exterior debut at the Beijing Auto Show. The cabin features a white colour scheme, a two-spoke steering wheel, column-mounted gear selector, and a floating central touchscreen, with conventional instrumentation omitted in favour of AR-HUD integration. The rear seats showcase distinctive sculpting and intricate textures. Power comes from a 2.0T Kunpeng turbocharged engine paired with Chery's in-house developed eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Geely Galaxy M7 compact SUV will launch on April 28 with pre-sale prices ranging from RMB 139,800 to 156,800. Built on the GEA Evo architecture, it features the Galaxy Flyme Auto 2 intelligent cockpit and Qianli Haohan H3 advanced driver assistance system, delivering a CLTC pure electric range of 225 km and a combined range of 1,730 km. Exterior highlights include a distinctive flying-eaves front fascia, full-width LED light bar, and AGS active grille shutter. Measuring 4,770/1,905/1,685 mm with a 2,785 mm wheelbase, the rear features a 2-metre-plus Star Ripple full-width tail light with 362 LEDs and a Rising Sun tail light with 344 super-red LEDs. Wheel options range from 18 to 20 inches.

The BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport has launched in Malaysia, priced from RM358,800. Powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder mild-hybrid engine producing 258 PS and 400 Nm, the SUV features an eight-speed automatic transmission with xDrive all-wheel drive, achieving 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. Upgrades over the X3 20 variant include 20-inch M bicolour alloy wheels, M Sport brakes, a 15-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system, and M Sport front seats with ventilation, complementing the BMW Curved Display infotainment setup.
