Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and Asbenz Stern have unveiled a new Autohaus in Kuantan, the largest Mercedes-Benz facility on Malaysia's East Coast with a total built-up area of 65,340 square feet. The Indera Mahkota location features a 26,565 square foot display area accommodating up to six vehicles, alongside customer spaces including the Star Lounge and Mercedes-Benz Lifestyle Collection. Upgraded from a 3S centre launched in 2018, the new 4S facility integrates body and paint services with 16 work bays staffed by Mercedes-Benz trained and certified technicians. An on-site 120 kW DC fast charger with dual charging guns supports simultaneous charging of fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Martin Schulz, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia, stated the opening reflects their commitment to elevating the customer experience in the East Coast region.

The 2026 GAC Trumpchi M6 MAX has officially launched with three variants—Elite, Luxury, and Premium—priced between RMB 99,800 and 119,800, or RMB 88,800 to 107,600 after combined government and enterprise subsidies. Launch benefits include trade-in, finance, and data packages. Chery Malaysia has announced the imminent arrival of the flagship Tiggo 9 seven-seat SUV, opening registrations on its official website. The local variant will feature a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with AWD and seven drive modes, producing 256 PS and 390 Nm with a choice of 7DCT or 8AT transmissions. Dimensions of 4,810/1,925/1,741 mm and a 2,800 mm wheelbase exceed those of the Tiggo 8 Pro. Xiaomi has unveiled the YU7 GT in Crimson Red exterior with Track Red interior, positioning the model as a "sports car-grade SUV for long-distance travel" and the flagship of the YU7 family. Co-tuned by Chinese and European engineers with the Nürburgring Nordschleife as its proving ground, the model promises a solid chassis, premium quality, and confident cornering performance. The Crimson Red paint is paired with exclusive aero kit elements including a redesigned front bumper with large splitter and multiple cooling vents, while the bonnet-mounted Xiaomi logo receives a black-and-gold finish. The YU7 GT is scheduled for official launch at the end of May.

Perodua has confirmed local production and sales of the Ativa Hybrid in Malaysia, transitioning from its previous subscription-only trial programme. President and CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad stated that production timelines and pricing are being finalised, with a formal announcement to follow. The project received approximately 1.5 billion yen (over RM37 million) from Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry-led Global South Fund to support Japanese hybrid technology deployment. The 2022 trial involved 300 CBU units, essentially a rebadged Daihatsu Rocky e-Smart Hybrid powered by a 106 PS/170 Nm electric motor paired with an 82 PS 1.2-litre WA-VEX Atkinson-cycle three-cylinder engine.
